Position Summary
The analyst assists the Capital Markets team in a broad array of duties, tasks, and responsibilities. This will include, but not be limited to, financial analysis, reporting, data management, customer management and the alike. There will be daily interaction with numerous customers, vendors, and peers which will require strong interpersonal skills and the ability to working not only with in the Capital Markets team but across departments as well. The analyst will embody someone who is highly motivated, eager to learn, takes direction well, and learns extremely quickly.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Accept rate lock requests, reviewing each request and communicating confirmation
- Assist clients in the automated registration and lock process via seller portal
- Research pricing requests and update system with and required pricing changes
- Publish daily and intra-day pricing to the pricing engine
- Assist Capital Markets with adjustments to pricing engine
- Monitor and report on locked pipeline activity (ie. lock expiration dates, etc)
- Issue weekly reporting to sellers regarding lock status
- Mortgage Industry Knowledge: to include an advanced knowledge of mortgage banking and seller dynamics as it applies to Redwood Trust
- Teamwork – Interactions with all functions within the company, ability to negotiate in the best interest of stakeholders’ overall position
- Create reports and analysis on an ad hoc basis, as required
- Preparation of Investment Memorandums for committee presentations
- Prepare trade settlement schedules
- Prepare & crack data tapes
- Prepare monthly remittance reports as well as ad hoc reporting requests
- Commitment management within internal systems
- Monthly loan population and data reconciliations
- General portfolio accounting
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Bachelor’s degree with a track record of strong academic performance; finance, economics, or the alike a plus
- 1-5 years financial experience a plus
- Very detail oriented with an ability to multi-task numerous different projects
- Strong computer skills required, proficiency with Microsoft Office, specifically, excel a plus
- SQL skills a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Strong quantitative skills and demonstrated analytical ability
- Self-managed, able to work well independently and within a small team
- Understanding of basic capital markets principals including interest rate calculations and basic bond math
- Team player
A reasonable estimate of the base compensation range for this role is $75K - 120K annually. The actual salary offer to the successful candidate will be based on job-related education, geographic location, training, licensure and certification, and other factors.
