Manager, Business Analysts - Proagrica - Stillwater, OK
This position manages business analysts across business units, supporting multiple complex projects aimed at delivering IT solutions and services that meet company cost, quality and strategic targets. The role will predominantly focus on gathering and analyzing work group data, defining current processes and requirements, researching best practice and identifying and documenting process improvements and functional specifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
• 10+ years IT business analyst experience
• 2+ years Leadership experience
• BS/BA degree in relevant discipline or equivalent experience required, ISEB qualified Business Analyst required
TECHNICAL SKILLS:
• Proven track record of gathering business requirements and translating them into user stories/functional specifications, gained on projects of considerable scale and/or complexity
• Broad understanding of software development methodologies
• Experience using a recognized development methodology e.g., Agile, SCRUM, KANBAN
• Strong facilitation skills, ability to facilitate workshops with all staff levels
• IT research, software analysis and design skills
• Broad technical understanding across various methodologies, platforms, tools and languages.
• Previous experience of working in an agile environment and using recognized development methodology; e.g., Agile, SCRUM, KANBAN.
• Ability to write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of advanced complexity
• Strong skills in setting, communicating, implementing and achieving business objectives and goals through the direct management of others.
• Strong organization/project planning, time management, change management across multiple functional groups and departments, and delegation skills involving prioritizing and reprioritizing projects and managing projects of various size and complexity
• Advance problem solving experience involving leading teams in identifying, researching, and coordinating the resources necessary to effectively troubleshoot/diagnose complex project issues; prior success extracting/translating findings into alternatives/solutions, identifying risks/impacts and schedule adjustments to facilitate management decision making.
• Advance communication (verbal and written) and customer service skills. Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills applicable to a wide audience including senior and executive management, customers, etc. including diction/terminology and presenting information in a concise and effective manner to clients, management and various departments using assorted communication mediums.
ACCOUNTABILITIES:
• Manage complex business requirements and analyze existing business processes and their alignment with current systems or proposed solutions.
• Model proposed complex software specifications and perform requirement/artifact traceability.
• Lead the integration and communication among applications, databases, and technology platforms on a business and technological level.
• Lead business process analyses and business needs/requirements elicitation in an effort to align information technology with business initiatives.
• Manage the performance complex analysis on existing systems; identifying options for potential solutions and assess for both technical and business suitability.
• Understand organizational motivations including problems, goals, and objectives. Assess and document the benefits, risks, and critical success factors of the project. Demonstrate that business needs are satisfied within a given technical solution.
• Participate in developing functional and non-functional requirements, testing, training, and implementing applications into production environments that support the business unit.
• Carry out management responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies, procedures, and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees and addressing complaints and resolving problems.
• Ensure all staff is provided with training and resources needed to perform their jobs to the most outstanding degree possible. Ensure all staff is provided with frequent feedback and coaching in order to meet and exceed individual and team performance goals consistently.
• Manage and encourage new ideas from staff to foster improvements through innovations.
• Empower the staff to be accountable and responsible for their own actions and decisions.
