Role PurposeProvides oversight and direction to a team of developers in the design, development and implementation of high-quality software solutions. Role Responsibilities Perform advanced software development and maintenance functions for The Yield Book and FTSE Russell Fixed Income Indices. Responsibilities include: design and develop software for FTSE Russell Fixed Income Index System and Custom Index Tools; maintain and develop index production system to improve efficiency and quality; utilize analytics skill and fixed income knowledge to implement index calculation methodology. Oversees the development and implementation of high quality technology products Implements new / improved software development processes and best practices, as required by group or departmental Heads This position requires and rewards candidates with strong personal initiative, work ethic, and the ability to develop expertise in both fixed income markets and the technology needed to deliver analysis capabilities for these markets. Minimum Requirements 5 year experience in one or more program languages from Python, C, C and Java 3-5 year experience in financial data management and/or data modelling Smart beta/strategy index/portfolio construction experience is preferred but not required. Degree in Computer Science or Electronics / Electrical Engineering, or equivalent Strong mathematical skills with knowledge of Bond analytics and portfolio valuations, timeseries analysis Significant knowledge of multiple programming languages, third party software products and expert in – Python, Perl, Java, RESTful API, Microservices - Spring Boot, In-memory caching performance tuning, , DB – Sybase, SQL server, PostgreSQL Good knowledge in Financial Data Management/Modelling Experience in CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins, Sonar, Artifactory, Nexus, Maven and Git.
