What are the responsibilities and job description for the Medical Assistant position at Refresh Mental Health?
Peninsula Psychological Center is a premier outpatient mental health clinic with four locations in Washington. We are actively interviewing Medical Assistants who are certified in the state of Washington to join our growing team in Silverdale, WA.
This dedicated group, Peninsula Psychological Center, was founded in 1991 with multiple offices located throughout Kitsap County. Our main office is centrally located in Silverdale while other office locations include Port Orchard, Port Townsend, and Poulsbo.
The CMA works collaboratively with administrative support staff to provide support services to providers who work remotely and/or in clinic. This requires using multiple technology platforms. The CMA will interface with patients, providers, and other individuals to provide medical, administrative, and clerical support. The Certified Medical Assistant will adhere to HIPAA privacy standards and regulations.
Responsibilities and Duties
Confirm new patient forms are complete at the time of appointment check-in.
Answer telephone, route calls and greet visitors to the office.
Must be able to recognize and respond appropriately to urgent/emergent situations per protocols.
Enter lab orders, including ICD-10 codes, process incoming lab results for provider review.
Obtain and document information within patient Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
Scan and document records and forms in patient EMR.
Demonstrate knowledge of 3rd party payer requirements and collect health insurance information.
Collect copays.
Process Release of Information (ROI}, in coming medical records and route to providers for
review.
Process medication refills and prior authorizations, call pharmacies with medication refills as needed.
Maintain medication sample cabinet.
Communicate and schedule with drug representatives as needed/directed by providers.
Support providers with scheduling and status checks on patients as requested.
Accept change in a positive and professional manner and lead others by example..
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with providers, staff, patients, and management.
Document work processes as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Graduated from an Accredited Medical Assistant Program with Current Washington State Medical Assistant Certification.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Full-time availability (Mon-Fri: 8:30am - 5:30pm)
Has own reliable means of transportation.
Proficient in typing, Microsoft Office applications, and basic technological skills.
Positive outlook and willingness to train.
