Regency Oaks is an active senior living community. Our property is located on 40 acres with cypress mounds and ancient oaks. This position is in house and a great fit for Students, Seniors and those who have worked in a supporting role of Seniors. The schedule is 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM with some flexibility.

Rate of pay is $12.00 an hour
POSITION SUMMARY: The Security Guard is responsible for maintaining a safe and secure environment for all residents, visitors, staff and protecting Community property. Responsible for verifying the scheduled presence of all employees, and third party contactors on the grounds. Will sometimes assist residents with requests.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
1. Makes scheduled rounds both inside and outside the buildings to maintain a secure environment for residents and their property as well as company property.
2. Responds to all fire alarms and apartment emergency calls.
3. Develops and maintains a good working rapport with residents, family members, visitors, and personnel to assure that security procedures meet the needs of the facility.
4. Assists with special security needs as they arise; involving employees, visitors, and other members of the community.
5. Provides written report of any community incident during the shift that Director of Plant Operations and other administration may need to be aware of.
6. Maintains entrances of community for safe passage at all times. Sweeps, rakes and shovels, keeping the exit door walkways clear of debris and precipitation.
7. Accomplishes all work in the order of priority set by the supervisor. Performs specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by the supervisor.
8. Supports creating a culture where the business decisions made in this position, along with individual employee engagement, drive top-line revenue and occupancy.
Additional Duties
- Observe and abide by all regulations to ensure that personal health information is protected during its collection, use, disclosure, storage, and destruction within the community; and to ensure only the minimum necessary information is known to Assure resident safety.
- Follow written and oral directions.
- Maintain confidentiality of resident and community information.
- Assist new employees in following established community policies and procedures. Complete assignments timely, completely and accurately.
- Attend all in-services as assigned or requested.
- Consistently work cooperatively with residents, co-workers, physicians, families, consultant personnel and other ancillary service providers.
- Observe all community safety policies and procedures.
- Assumes accountability for compliance with Federal, State, and other regulations within scope of control and of which informed.
- Observe infection control procedures.
- Perform all other related duties as assigned in an effective, timely and professional manner
- Routinely interact with individuals (residents, family members, staff, etc.) who may be discourteous, tactless, demanding, verbally and/or physically threatening or abusive, angry or hostile, emotionally vulnerable or mentally ill, vulgar, mean-natured. Routinely called upon to control own emotions and behaviors so as to protect residents’ rights and to respond professionally with respect and dignity.
Qualifications:
- High School diploma or equivalent in training, education and experience
- Minimum one year experience in security preferred
- The ability to speak, read and comprehend the English language
- Good inter-department communication and teamwork skills
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office Suite products
