POSITION
We are seeking an Accounting Specialist to join our Regeneration Schools team. Reporting directly to the Staff Accountant, this individual will work with the accounting team to perform accounting and bookkeeping tasks for the maintenance and processing of accounts payable transactions for ReGeneration Schools and each of its nine campuses. The Accounting Specialist will have accounting content knowledge and experience and will be responsible for executing accounts payable, as well as other tasks and duties outlined below.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Process vendor invoices, manage payment schedules, reconcile statements, and ensure timely payments in compliance with the network’s financial policies
Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, credit cards, and other financial accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness
Assist in the closing processes by adjusting entries, reconciling accounts, and ensuring all financial activities are accurately recorded
Assist in generating financial reports as needed, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements
Assist with 1099-NEC preparation and filing
Record payroll into the accounting system on a bi-weekly basis
Process bi-weekly pension payments for the State of Ohio and Illinois in accordance with each state's rules and regulations
Process insurance payments on a monthly basis (Health, Dental, Vision, LTD, STD, Workers Compensation, etc.)
Compile invoices paid from grant funds and submit them to the accounting team
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, accounting, business or related field
2 years experience in accounting or finance
Accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll experience preferred
Fluency with accounting and billing programs including Quickbooks,Sage, Intacct, and Bills.com
Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite, proficient to advanced in Excel
Deadline-driven with excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Process improvement orientation
Exercises a high degree of discretion with confidential financial information
Experience managing multiple entities with intercompany transactions
Non-profit and education experience preferred
COMPENSATION
The salary range for this role is $45,000 - $50,000 plus a competitive benefits package.
