With support, organizes and drives various improvement initiatives within the operation. Works collaboratively and develops extensive knowledge of processes to analyze the flow of work.
As a Assoc Continuous Improvement Specialist, a typical day might include the following:
- Supports facilitation of cross-site / cross-functional continuous improvement projects, and structured problem solving activities working to eliminate waste.
- Develops the Continuous Improvement capabilities of the organization deploying and delivering effective instructor led training for employees.
- Supports systems to foster accountability and recognition of continuous improvement efforts.
- Takes seed ideas and nurtures them into improvements across the operations; initiates continuous improvement methodologies.
- Supports the Continuous Improvement Business Partner (BP) program and may act as a BP to a specific organizational group within IOPS to identify and support improvement efforts.
This role may be for you if you:
- Fundamental understanding and application of CI Problem Solving techniques and Lean tools
- Ability to define problems, analyze data, and draw valid conclusions.
- Has the ability to think creatively and proactively propose solutions with an attention to detail.
- Ability to build effective working relationships throughout the organization.
- Ability to facilitate and support meetings with cross site & cross-functional teams.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal & written.
- Adaptable and flexible with a can do, positive attitude.
- Previous experience of supporting change in a highly regulated environment is desirable.
In order to be considered for this position, you must hold a BS/BA in a scientific or business discipline and 2 years of relevant experience, or a MS/MBA and 1 years of relevant experience with knowledge of continuous improvement approaches (Lean Manufacturing, Kaizens etc.).
