What are the responsibilities and job description for the Associate Scientist - Assay Development position at Regeneron Pharmaceuticals Inc.?
We are seeking an Associate Scientist to join the Assay Development Group (ADG) within Bioanalytical Sciences located in Tarrytown, NY. In this role, you will be responsible for the development and validation of immunoassays, including pharmacokinetic (PK), immunogenicity, and biomarker assays, to support preclinical and clinical studies for diverse modalities such as monoclonal antibodies, bispecific antibodies, antibody-drug conjugates (ADC), and adeno-associated viruses (AAV).
A Day in the Life of an Associate Scientist May Look Like:
- Design and perform immunoassays (e.g., ELISA, MSD, SMCxPRO) with limited direction, based on protocols provided by supervisor and other scientists. Troubleshoots assay-related problems with assistance of their supervisor.
- Reads literature and relevant regulatory documents for ligand binding, biomarker and immunogenicity assays.
- May assist with evaluation of new technologies and emerging complex modalities for the development of immunoassays using new formats or techniques.
- Summarizes and communicates results to supervisor in a logical manner, verbally and in written reports. May deliver presentations related to project assignments within department.
- Writes assay validation protocols for review by supervisor and/or Study Director. Performs validation experiments and summarizes results in reports. May lead assay transfer meetings with internal bioanalysis groups or external CROs.

This role requires a BS degree with 0-5 years of relevant post-degree laboratory experience or an MS Degree with 0-2 years of relevant post-degree laboratory experience. Experience with immunoassays and/or assay development using ELISA is preferable but not necessary.
