Our Formulation Development Group is looking for a highly motivated team member to join in the development of innovative biological drug products at all phases including early to late clinical and commercial stages.
In this role, you will carry out characterization and development studies on antibody, antibody-like proteins, and antibody conjugated molecules to support drug product design and development. In addition, you will be involved in applying biophysical and biochemical methods to support research and development assessment of drug candidate molecules.
A Typical Day in the Role of Scientist Might Look Like:
- Design and implement formulation development and characterization studies as well as stability studies to support formulation and drug product development for different modalities (e.g. antibodies, fusion proteins, and conjugates).
- Own the development of phase-appropriate biochemical and biophysical methods as well as high-throughput biophysical methods for characterization of property, stability and degradation mechanisms of the drug products.
- Develop timelines, setup sample testing plan, coordinate with cross-functional team members to support critical program activities and meet key deliverables.
- Author/review technical documents, such as study protocols, technical reports and technology transfer documents to internal and external collaborators, including CROs and CDMOs, to support the process development and manufacturing of clinical drug substances and drug products.
- Contribute to regulatory documents, response and submission.
- Serve as a team representative and/or subject matter expert (SME) at the cross-functional research and product development teams, such as Research Working Groups and CMC teams.
- Lead or participate in research studies for product characterization and evaluation of innovative new technology platforms driving technology innovation.
- Lead or collaborate in conducting new technology development and research projects
This Role Might Be for You If:
You have a PhD in Biochemistry, Biophysics, Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Science or a related field with 0-4 years of industry or academia working experience.
- Expertise in protein chemistry and protein characterization with keen analytical and problem-solving skills are a must.
- Experience with protein stability, structure or biophysics studies is helpful.
- Hands-on experience and troubleshooting proficiency with applying chromatography (SEC, IEX, RP, HIC) and/or biophysical techniques such as light scattering (DLS, MALS, SLS) and AUC for studying protein-protein interactions are desirable.
- Experience in Computational Chemistry or structural bioinformatics is helpful.
- Experience with working on conjugated molecules is a plus
- Ability to prioritize and lead multiple projects/tasks.
- Detailed, self-motivated, effective teammate, good oral and written communication skills.
