Medical Inventory Specialist

Job Details

Focus on patients and help them achieve better health in an outpatient medical clinic through treatment, prevention, wellness education and accountability, disease education, and patient empowerment.

This position will support staff and patients in having the tools and supplies they need to improve health outcomes.

This position will maintain the facility inventory and dispense items to patients and staff members.

This position will perform specific outreach programs for patients.

Strong Customer Service skills required.

Main Accountabilities:

• Ensure accurate inventory and availability of all products used in the company.

• Perform weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual inventory reconciliations.

• Perform Prior Authorization for medications.

• Perform Medication call ins to pharmacies.

• Ensure all team members are aware of product availability.

• Ensure accurate ordering, dispensing and inventory control of all products.

• Maintain Vaccines for Children and State Registry information.

• Assist fellow team members in patient care.

• Assist with patient education and information.

• Direct counseling for patients on a plan for treatment.

• Maintains a health record for each patient. Complete records in a timely manner.

• Assures continuity of care by providing comprehensive medical services on a timely basis.

• Provides excellent internal/external customer service via telephone, fax or face-to-face contact to assist patients with their health care needs.

• Follows established policies, procedures, and objectives; continuous quality improvements objectives and safety, environmental, and/or infection control standards.

• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Experience commiserate with Accountabilities

• Ability to use internet based applications.

• Must know common names and classes of drugs.

• Strong organizational skills is a must.

• Pharmaceutical background preferred.
• Medical Assistant experience preferred.
