Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced Financial Assistant (Accounts Payables) to join our team. This position exists to maintain technical management and assist with fiscal duties of the agency including but not limited to oversight of the accounts payables and purchasing. The employee will receive limited supervision and his/her work will be reviewed for results and for conformance to policy.
Responsibilities:
- Process accounts payable invoices and check requisitions
- Central purchasing and distribution of supplies
- File all AP checks
- Assist Finance Director as needed and with annual inventory
- Assist with month-end closing activities, including journal entries and general ledger reconciliation
- Collaborate with other departments to resolve any payment-related issues or inquiries

Experience:
- Experience in data processing, bookkeeping, and accounting
- Associate degree preferred
- Knowledge of accounts payable procedures
- Work requires the exercise of considerable judgment to ensure that transactions are in accordance with correct accounting and budget procedures and federal program requirements
Skills:
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy in data entry and record keeping
- Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
