JOB SUMMARY AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Review, analyze and evaluate business systems and user needs. Document requirements, define scope and objectives and formulate systems to parallel overall business strategies. Responsible for collecting, compiling, and maintaining various sources of data related to organizational development, process improvement, and strategic planning. Abstracts and utilizes information as required to prepare statistical reports and files. Participates in the design, development, and maintenance of ongoing metrics, reports, analyses, dashboards, etc. used to drive key business decisions. Supports manager/director in executing the development of planning and operation tools.
1. Determine operational objectives by studying operational functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats
2. Construct workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities;
3. Improve systems by studying current practices; designing modifications
4. Recommend controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures
5. Define project requirements by identifying project milestones, phases and elements; forming project team; establishing project budget
6. Monitor project progress by tracking activity; resolving problems; publishing progress reports; recommending actions
7. Maintain user confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential
8. Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
9. Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
10. Conduct and coordinate financial, product, market, operational and related research to support strategic and business planning within the various departments and programs of the client group
11. Interpret, evaluate and interrelate research data and develop integrated business analyses and projections for incorporation into strategic decision-making
12. Perform daily, weekly and monthly reviews and analyses of current processes using operational metrics and reports
13. Suggest changes to leadership using analytics to support your recommendations. Actively participate in the implementation of approved changes
14. Create informative, actionable and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement
MACHINES OR EQUIPMENT OPERATED: Computer and related equipment, general office, and instructional equipment.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s Degree in Health Information Systems, Business, Health Administration, Information technology or related program or equivalent education/experience in a related area. Master’s Degree in related field may be utilized in lieu of experience.
EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years’ experience in a business analyst or similar role and project coordination.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES:
• Must have experience in reporting and business intelligence solutions.
• Understanding of the healthcare industry desired.
• Experience with dashboard design and delivery desired.
• Experience with Soarian and Cerner preferred.
• Knowledge of QI tools, medical records, excellent oral and written communication skills
• Ability to gather, analyze and communicate technical and clinical data.
• Advanced level of computer software skills including Microsoft Office applications, spreadsheets and graphs.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects/assignments.
• Demonstrated ability to utilize project management and coordination tools.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Speaking, hearing, and visual acuity. Demonstrated ability to transport and set-up audiovisual and teaching equipment.
