The Cashier (Parking) is responsible for processing payments from customers, making correct change, and giving receipts while operating a computer terminal, machine terminal, and/or cash register depending on location. The incumbent maintains a positive image for Regional One Health, and conducts business in a professional and customer friendly manner. Performs other related duties as assigned or directed in order to meet the goals and objectives of the department and hospital.
What you will do
- Responsible for processing cash and credit card payments from customers, making correct change, and giving receipts while operating a computer terminal, machine terminal, and/or cash register depending on location. * Compares totals on cash register receipts with amount of cash in register to verify shift balances. * Complies with department cash handling procedures.
- Completes daily station reports which may include incorporation of reports from the parking management system. * Ensures charges and validations are recorded correctly. * Turns in report at end of each shift.
- Maintains a daily visitor account, which may include incorporation of reports from the automated parking management system. * Turns in the completed log to the Manager at end of each shift. * Greets customers in a cheerful manner. * Maintains positive employee and staff relationships.
- Provides efficient customer service to customers and staff. * Tracks tickets and keys. * Requests cars for customers. * Hands out tickets (self-parking), and post tickets (self-parking/valet). * Answers the telephone;. * May be trained to diagnose and repair any issue with on-site machinery such as ticket jams, broken gate arms. * Greets customers, patients, staff. * Provides directions and answers customers, visitors, and patients general questions.
- Maintains regular and predictable attendance; provides coverage for relief and absences within department. * Demonstrates flexibility to work evenings, weekends and holidays to maintain coverage for cashier/parking attendant services.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent Required
- Minimum 1 year experience of related experience Required and
- Prior experience working in the parking industry or other customer service experience Preferred and
- Prior experience as a cashier Preferred
