Position Overview:
Tyburn Railroad LLC is seeking a dedicated and experienced Assistant General Manager to support day-to-day operations in Morrisville and assist with other Regional Rail projects as needed. This role is integral to overseeing the butane transload operation and involves dynamic scheduling responsibilities. The Assistant General Manager will work under the direct supervision of the General Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and develop a team for the safe and efficient transfer of products from railcars to trucks, including workforce scheduling and staffing recommendations.
Use of Railroad related software programs such as RMI, Rail Management Inc.
Collaborate with the General Manager to foster a motivational working environment that promotes pride, integrity, and ownership among employees, encouraging them to strive for excellence and provide superior customer service.
Establish and maintain standardized operating procedures to handle peak service levels effectively.
Ensure compliance of all plant equipment and maintain regular upkeep.
Employ a hands-on management style; experience in Petroleum, Logistics, or Railroads preferred.
Monitor and adjust the daily transload operation based on performance evaluations.
Act as the primary contact for customers regarding scheduling, rail switches, and inventory calculations; produce daily operations summaries.
Enforce safety protocols as per Tyburn operations procedures, provide necessary training, and document safety meetings.
Optimize practices to maximize truck and railcar volumes.
Manage inventory projections and reporting on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
Coordinate with Customer Service, Sales, and Management to support new account growth and maintain regular communications.
Oversee dispatch routing and drive continuous service level improvements.
Engage with all TYBR customers to understand and optimize day-to-day operations.
Interpret and manage data from Customer, Railroad, and Company reports to project workloads.
Oversee Operations, Sales, Purchasing, Customer Service, Budgets, Payroll Hours, and Expense projections.
Perform additional duties and take on special projects as needed to support the General Manager and senior management.
Seasonal Shifts:
This position requires coverage of the second shift during the butane operation months (October to March), including Saturdays.
Regular Hours:
The position reverts to regular hours during the off-butane months (April to September).
Qualifications:
Proven management skills and experience in operations, ideally in petroleum, logistics, or railroad industries.
Ability to work with railroad related software such as RMI, Rail Management Inc.
Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on safety and compliance.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of fostering strong customer and team relationships.
Effective problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
