ADMINISTRATIVE SCHOOL SECRETARY - JOB DESCRIPTION
REPORTS TO:
1. To the Principal for the effective performance of clerical functions in the school.
QUALIFICATIONS DESIRED:
1. Education: A high school diploma and courses in office procedures.
2. Experience: Two years of experience in applicable office positions that include typing ability.
3. The ability to work courteously with many kinds of people and to promote positive public relations.
WORK YEAR:
School year role. Specific work year is determined by job requirements as stipulated in the annual employment contract.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide secretarial support to the school administrators and staff.
2. Perform routine office work including using a variety of computer programs, posting, filing, recording, classifying, accounting and bookkeeping.
3. Disseminates information to teachers, students, parents and others.
4. Prepare and up-date student records.
5. Assist in preparation of school documents including staff manuals, student certificates, reports, etc.
6. Maintain accurate attendance records/reports for state and local requirements.
7. Train teachers and other personnel on use of a variety of machines and systems.
8. Administer first aid, dispense authorized medications and supervise the injured and sick in the absence of the nurse.
9. Schedules conferences and appointments.
10. Cover phones and be on site for late buses.
11. Perform such other tasks and assume such other responsibilities that may be assigned from time to time.
