JOB OVERVIEW:
Under the supervision of the Manager of Access and Regional Maintenance, the Supervisor of Regional Maintenance is primarily responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of employees and vendors who are involved in repairing, maintaining, servicing, and ordering parts for our fleet of RTS Ontario buses and non-revenue vehicles. They also oversee the maintenance of our Regional fleets at other locations, with specific focus on RTS Seneca and RTS Wayne. Directly manages Regional Technicians and Fueler/Washers at RTS Ontario. The Regional Managers of Ontario, Seneca, and Wayne along with the Director of Regional Operations, will be the primary internal customers for this position. Additionally, this position will support Fleet Engineering activities including bus procurements and bus inspections at manufacturing plants.
SALARY: $60,000 - $70,000 annually (depends on experience)
PRIMARY JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
RTS Ontario Maintenance Personnel Supervision and Work Planning:
Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in the repair, installation and service of all major/minor mechanical problems related to buses and facilities.
Regional Maintenance Oversight:
Responsible for maintenance oversight for other Regional operations including maintenance vendor performance, contract management, new bus procurements, contingency fleet management, bus disposals, contingency fleets.
Maintenance Process Improvement:
Work with the Director of Maintenance and the Maintenance management team in initiating and supporting process improvement activities in areas of vehicle and facility maintenance. This includes helping to implement and deploy job standards, workflow improvements, utilization of Trapeze EAM and other related activities.
Bus Procurements:
Working closely with Fleet Engineering will support bus procurement activities including specification development and bus inspections at manufacturing plants. Occasional extended travel (2 weeks at a time) may be required. Primary vehicle types will be typical of the Access and Regional fleets but will be called on to support other vehicle builds including 40' and 60' diesel, battery electric and H2 fuel cell buses.
