Responsibilities
REHAU Incorporated, a leading international polymer manufacturer, is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Product Specialist for our Building Solutions division at our Americas headquarters in Leesburg, VA. The Product Specialist will report to the Senior Manager of Radiant Heating and Cooling. Core tasks will be to research, coordinate, and substantiate new product developments to support the business unit’s growth and expansion in the building and construction segment. This position will work closely with engineering, marketing and sales; therefore, a solid technical acumen or commercial experience in the construction and/or building materials industry is a plus. Ideal candidates will exhibit a passion for energy efficiency, sustainability and carbon neutral building targets. Past experience with product management or project management is desirable. Additionally, alternative candidates with a consultant background and/or quantitative analysis will be strongly considered.
- Investigate and develop new programs and products in the construction and building materials industries
- Conduct market research and qualitative as well as quantitative marketing analysis on new products
- Report findings and recommendations to Senior Management through comprehensive business plans, case studies, and easy to follow “storylines”
- Analyze products and product portfolios to optimize for customer satisfaction, sales growth and profitability
- Coordinate new program/product developments in accordance with company procedures
- Understand market levers from a high level affecting the Building Solution sub divisional programs including key influencers in building design, public policy, sustainability movement economic drivers, and technology trends/ developments
- Lead projects including objectives, milestones, budgets and timelines from concept to launch
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from a highly competitive college or university in business, marketing, economics, engineering or a related field
- 0-3 years of experience as a business/market analyst, product specialist, project coordinator, or similar role in new product development
- Experience in B2B preferably in construction, building products, and/or manufacturing
- Data driven with ability to analyze, interpret data and present results to senior management
- Experience and/or coursework in marketing, business analytics, business development or customer interaction a plus
- Exceptional communication skills with ability to convey information to colleagues at all levels
- Works well in a team environment with a high degree of cultural intelligence and thrives in consensus based problem solving
- Excellent project management skills with ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
- Is self-motivated and adaptable to change
