Under general supervision, provides support to various departments regarding compilation of and analyzing data related to clinical outcomes, patient safety, risk, accreditation, and other areas of clinical data.

 

Analyzes data, provides interpretation of results, and communicates to appropriate team members for critical reliability decision-making. Plans and manages quality improvement projects. Participates in data collection, input and data analysis activities, and produces recurring and ad hoc reports.

 

Participates in performance improvement/quality activities throughout the organization. Ensure data integrity in any project/process assigned.

 

Works within the EPIC database to ensure analytics (KPI’s, Operational and Analytical data points) are pulled, validated and successfully implemented to ensure hospital wide operations and initiatives at meeting targets.

 

This position is supported by both the Director of Decision Support and the Vice President/CIO.

Overview of Responsibilities

  • Responsible for intake of requests for reports, working with end user to understand scope of projects and providing meaningful outputs.
  • Analyzation and identification of trends, and communicating with appropriate departments to ensure clinical interventions and insights can be made.
  • Utilization of various analytical tools within department – EPIC, Vizient CDB.
  • Run electronic reports from clinical databases and evaluate the data for effective use in assessing quality.
  • Building trust/communication with all levels of employment within Reid as a bridge between the data and end-user.
  • Working closely with Quality, RHPA, Performance Improvement and I/S on various reporting and analytical projects

Education/Experience

Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, or health care or business with strong technical computer/math knowledge, or the equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

Experience Required: Familiarity with Lean Management principles. 

Strong Computer Skills - Ability to work in the suite of Microsoft office products—Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Demonstrate experience using verbal and non-verbal skills to communicate project status with organization leadership.

Experience Preferred: 

Five years of increasingly more responsible experience in the health care industry with a minimum of two year experience with data analysis utilizing statistical methods.

Experience with Software used for business analytics is desirable.

Knowledge of EPIC functionality.

Clinical knowledge or experience.

Epic Cogito certification preferred.

Schedule Details

Day Shift. Mon. - Fri 8:00a-5:00p
