Responsible for design, analysis, testing, installation, and support activities for Epic related information system solutions as required that are developed or acquired as part of the overall hospital network of integrated computer systems. Incumbent must be able to help and consultation to enterprise departments, with system application issues, and serve as technical coordinator between departments and any outside vendors. In-depth knowledge of Epic software is obtained by attending Epic training with completion of application certification projects and tests. Training may be onsite at Verona, Wisconsin or virtually from the office.

Overview of Responsibilities

1. Completes assigned Epic certifications, training, projects, and testing.2. Works closely with our other EHR Certified Analysts for assigned applications.3. Completes Epic related tasks assigned by supervisor. 4. Provides technical subject matter expertise and business process knowledge to project teams analyzing systemic or process issues within assigned areas.5. Provides input on alternative solutions ensuring project team is fully educated on required effort, technical constraints, and impacts to existing system stability.6. Assists departments / project teams in defining requirements for new systems.7. Assists project manager in development of project plans focusing on technical work requirements and effort.8. Participates in vendor selection process including demonstrations and functional comparison activities. 9. Completes appropriate departmental pre-purchase checklists and documentation. 10. Provides input into contract / statement of work for new systems / functionality in supported areas.11. Provides input to design team in development of updated process diagrams, screen layouts, and any other elements of the design as defined by the project team.12. Writes design specifications.13. Completes system build / development tasks based on design specifications.14. Completes unit testing of system components validating accuracy of build as defined by specifications.15. Participates in testing using test scripts to validate business processes.16. Participates in development and validation of training material.17. Participates in training sessions ensuring appropriate knowledge transfer to end users.18. Participates in go-live events providing support, training, and troubleshooting assistance to deployment team.19. Provides technical support to system end users functioning as the primary resource for managing and resolving system issues.20. Maintains software for assigned systems at supportable levels and communicate available updates and enhancements to end users.21. Monitors incident tickets and provides timely resolution of same. 22. Maintains detailed system documentation reflecting system architecture, security, and other requirements as defined in documentation templates.23. Leads analysis of current state.24. Develops alternative solutions and lead teams through analysis.25. Develops project plans for small to medium implementations / upgrades.26. Coordinates vendor selection activities. 27. Leads system design teams ensuring all business processes are addressed within specifications.28. Develops comprehensive test plans that cover organizational business processes affected by implementation.29. Coordinates cross-functional integrated testing managing schedules, organizing staff, and tracking issues.30. Participates in coordination of go-live event developing detailed plan and coordinating resources.31. Participates in change management activities for assigned systems.32. Coordinates optimization activities proactively identifying improvements that allow end users to function more effectively.33. Communicates successfully at all levels of the organization.34. Functions independently executing assignments with minimal oversight.35. Participates in implementations having high complexity / organizational visibility.36. Keeps abreast of current industry developments and trends.37. Advises supervisor of progress on projects and any key issues.38. Understands the Quality Assurance and Improvement Plan and participates in department activities as requested.39. Perform other assignments as specified by supervisor.

 

ADT/Cadence/Grand Central

            This position includes four Epic certifications - ADT/Prelude, Cadence, Grand Central, and Referrals. The ADT/Cadence/Grand Central Analyst is responsible for the scheduling and registration applications. Prior experience or knowledge in ambulatory and hospital revenue cycle workflows, scheduling, registration, patient accounting, HIM, and/or authorization/precertification processes is a benefit. Areas that integrate with these applications include check-in, registration, benefits, referrals, bed management, and orders.

 

Ambulatory

            This position includes four Epic Ambulatory certifications – Ambulatory, Healthy Planet, My Chart, and Orders Transmittal. The Ambulatory Analyst is responsible for the configuration of the ambulatory application to meet the needs of the ambulatory offices. Prior experience in ambulatory orders and integration applications is a benefit. This position will work closely with our Orders Analyst as well as other 3rd party vendors.

 

ASAP

            This position includes Epic ASAP Certification. The ASAP Analyst is responsible for the emergency department application. Prior experience or knowledge in emergency department operations and workflows is a benefit. This position includes responsibility for 3rd party applications i.e., Trauma.  

 

Cupid/Radiant

            This position includes two Epic certifications – Cupid and Radiant. The Cupid/Radiant Analyst is responsible for the cardiology and radiology applications. Prior experience or knowledge in cardiology and radiology as well as the multiple 3rd party systems that integrate with these applications is a benefit.  

 

 

 

ClinDoc

            This position includes two Epic certifications – EpicCare Inpatient and Stork. The ClinDoc Analyst is responsible for the inpatient clinical documentation application. Prior experience or knowledge in clinical documentation and orders is a benefit. This analyst will also work closely with the Orders Analyst and 3rd party applications that integrate

 

Dorothy Home Care

            This position includes Epic Home Care certification. The Dorothy Home Care Analyst is responsible for the home care and hospice applications. Prior experience or knowledge in home care and hospice is a benefit.

 

HIM

            This position includes four HIM certifications – Hospital Coding, Identify, Release of Information, and Deficiency Tracking. The HIM Analyst is responsible for the configuration of the application to meet the needs of the Health Information Management functions and workflows. Prior experience in hospital revenue cycle workflows including a solid understanding of abstracting, chart tracking, dictation, release of information, deficiency tracking, and coding are benefits. This position includes responsibility for HIM 3rd party applications.

 

Hospital Billing

This position includes certifications in Resolute Hospital Billing, Claims, Electronic Remittance, and Contracts and Hospice Claims. The Hospital billing Analyst is responsible for configuration of the application to meet the needs of the hospital billing service line. Prior experience in hospital billing revenue cycle workflows including a solid understanding of revenue cycle management and/or experience with billing operations is a benefit. Areas that integrate with hospital billing include charging, claims and remittances, extracts, and other 3rd party applications.

 

Optime/Anesthesia

            This position includes Optime and Anesthesia certification. The Optime/Anesthesia Analyst is responsible for the configuration of the application to meet the needs of the Surgery business line. Prior experience in operating room management, patient monitoring, and/or anesthesia workflows is a benefit. This position incudes responsibility for various patient monitoring systems used in the enterprise as well as integration with multiple 3rd party applications.

 

Orders

            This position includes Epic Orders and Order Transmittal certifications. The Orders Analyst is responsible for the inpatient orders and integration with the laboratory application. Prior experience or knowledge in orders and clinical documentation is a benefit. This analyst will work closely with the ClinDoc and Ambulatory Analysts as well as 3rd party applications that integrate with the Epic system i.e., Cerner Laboratory.   

 

Professional Billing

            This position includes certification in Resolute Professional Billing and Charge Router. The Professional Billing Analyst is responsible for configuration of the application to meet the needs of the professional billing service line. Prior experience in ambulatory revenue cycle workflows including a solid understanding of revenue cycle management and/or experience with billing operations is a benefit. Areas that integrate with professional billing include charging, claims and remittances and other 3rd party applications.

 

Security/SER Coordinator

            This position includes certifications in Security, Provider Badge, and EpicCare Link. The Security/SER Coordinator Analyst is responsible for the knowledge and maintenance of computer security for the multiple systems in the enterprise. The Analyst reviews workflows and collects data to provide appropriate levels of access. As SER Coordinator the Analyst is responsible for the definition, coordination, implementation, maintenance and support of Epic’s Provider Masterfile and coordination of Reid’s provider data management with other provider management groups. This includes the scheduled training and userid/permissions for the Medical Staff, Long Term Care Facilities, and others who need access to information.

 

Technical Analyst

            This position includes certification in Data Courier. The Technical Analyst is responsible for coordination and development/maintenance of procedures for Data Courier activity, Change Control, Testing, Environmental management, and Nova Note review.

 

Willow/Beacon

            This position includes Willow and/or Beacon certification. The Willow/Beacon Analyst is responsible for the configuration of the application to meet the needs of the pharmacy and/or Oncology business line. Prior experience in pharmacy workflows and the multiple 3rd party applications at Reid Health is a benefit. A good working relationship with the pharmacy and oncology department leadership is essential. Integrations with Willow and Beacon include orders and billing workflow and other 3rd party applications.

 

EHR Certified Analyst II

The EHR Certified Analyst II has these additional responsibilities

  • Work independently of any consulting services other than the Epic Technical Service
  • Coordinates change management, optimization, activities for assigned systems
  • Coordinates requests requiring cross-functional teams for resolution
  • Education/Experience

  • Has a thorough understanding of information technology and a good working knowledge of recent developments in software systems, programming languages, utility software, report writers and query languages, relational databases, networking, and computer equipment.
  • Good understanding of the Epic system and integration to related systems.
  • Able to gather and document business and information systems requirements for hospital departments and provide the formal analysis and design for recommended solutions.
  • Demonstrate through testing or explanation the skills and knowledge required to serve as a Project Leader for the development and/or installation of new computer systems and software applications.
  • Must be able to work effectively in a team environment and meet project timelines with specific deliverables.
  • Handles a large volume of changes and adjustments for the hospital environment.
  • Is conscientious, accurate, and capable of reacting logically to unusual or stressful situations and exercise good judgment skills.
  • Proficient with the MS Office Professional Family Suite; Outlook, Word, Excel, Visio, and Power Point.
  •  

    Education/Experience Required: 

     

  • Two to three years’ experience with Information technology application development, training, and implementation in a healthcare setting, with experience in Epic systems and processes strongly preferred.
  • Certification in Epic application(s) required within four months of hiring.
  • The EHR Certified Analyst II must have at least five years of EHR experience.
  • Ther EHR Certified Analyst II must have at least two Epic certifications and be proficient in assigned module.
  • Education/Experience Preferred:  Associates Degree in related field.

    Salaried. Monday – Friday 8:00a – 5:00p.
