New England Coffee is one the largest, independent family owned coffee roasters in the Boston area.
Job Summary: The Maintenance Technician is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and installing all equipment in the plant.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
- Troubleshoots, repairs, and replaces mechanical and electrical systems.
- Proactively conducts predictive and preventative maintenance of equipment.
- Maintains equipment information and repair files.
- Plans and coordinates maintenance jobs and new equipment installations.
- PLC/HMI familiarity.
- Follows all safety procedures and participates in safety training. Maintains safe and efficient use of equipment and tools.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: The qualifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability required to perform this job successfully.
- High school diploma or GED required. Associates degree preferred.
- 5 years of maintenance technician experience, preferably working in a manufacturing environment.
- Knowledge of Programmable Logic Controls (PLC) & Human Machine Interface (HMI).
- Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
- Strong safety awareness.
- Attention to detail with good organizational skills.
- Strong problem solving and analysis skills.
- Reliable with the ability to work on call as needed.
- Self-directed team player with ability to communicate effectively.
- Good communication skills, verbal and legible handwriting.
