A Reingold intern is someone with high standards and a crusading mindset. This internship program is your opportunity to dive into what it really means to work for a full-service communications agency. You’ll learn the ins and outs of your department and project teams, have opportunities to engage with leaders and subject matters from various departments, and you’ll even get a chance to present some of your own work to the entire firm. You’ll collaborate directly with experts in the communications field and have opportunities to chart your own path to make the most of the internship—all while working on causes that really matter. What It Means to be a Reingold Accounting Intern

We’re seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and flexible multitasker who loves learning new skills. Our ideal candidate is comfortable processing large volumes of data and excels at resolving accounting discrepancies.

You can expect the following day-to-day tasks:

• Review vendor invoices and employee reimbursement requests, and then enter them into our accounting system.
• Reconcile monthly statements for corporate credit cards (i.e., collect receipts, cross-check with transaction descriptions, obtain payment authorization, and assign general ledger and contract-specific codes).
• Maintain accurate records of vendor invoices and supporting documentation, including remittance addresses and tax information.
• Follow up with vendors and staff members on payment status, invoice documentation and authorization, and other billing issues.
• Prepare monthly labor and expense reports for project managers.
• Assist senior accountants with our finance ticketing system.
• Support and maintain Monday.com work management boards.
• Maintain reconciliation documents for general ledger accounts and assist with the monthly closing process.
• Perform other administrative and ad hoc tasks.

This role is a good fit for someone with the following qualifications and skills:

• Understanding of generally accepted accounting principles.
• Exceptional attention to detail.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Education or work experience in finance.

Internships are full time (40 hours) during the standard workweek and pay an hourly rate of $20, hourly. The spring internship class begins on January 9th and runs through May 12th. Core hours during the internship are 9am to 5:30pm eastern. The Spring Internship includes 2 scheduled in-office days at our Alexandria, VA or Raleigh, NC locations.
