Position Overview: Rekovar Inc is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Grant Writer to join our team. The Grant Writer will play a critical role in securing funding from various sources to support our research and development efforts. The successful candidate will have a strong background in grant writing, excellent communication skills, and a passion for advancing healthcare through scientific innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Research funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, and other sources that align with Rekovar Inc's research priorities and strategic objectives.
  2. Write and prepare grant proposals, including narratives, budgets, and supporting documents, in accordance with the requirements of funding agencies.
  3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including scientists, engineers, and business development professionals, to gather information and develop compelling grant proposals.
  4. Manage the grant application process from start to finish, ensuring that deadlines are met, and all required materials are submitted accurately and on time.
  5. Maintain a comprehensive database of grant opportunities, applications, and outcomes, and provide regular updates to management and stakeholders.
  6. Stay informed about emerging trends and best practices in grant writing and funding mechanisms within the medical device and biotechnology industry.
  7. Assist in the development of strategic partnerships and collaborations with external organizations to support grant funding opportunities.

Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., life sciences, biomedical engineering, communications) required; advanced degree preferred.
  2. 3 years proven experience in grant writing for medical device or biotechnology research, preferably in a corporate or academic setting.
  3. Excellent writing skills, with the ability to communicate complex scientific concepts clearly and persuasively.
  4. Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  5. Knowledge of grant funding mechanisms, including federal grants (e.g., NIH, NSF), foundation grants, and other sources of research funding.
  6. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, interdisciplinary environment.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software/tools.
  8. Demonstrated passion for healthcare innovation and improving patient outcomes.
