Job Title: Oracle DBA

Location: NYC,NY

Duration: Long term

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Install, patch, upgrade, maintain, and monitor Oracle databases.
2. Create and maintain SQL and PL/SQL queries and shell scripts.
3. Experience with Oracle 12c or 19c with RAC and High availability.
4. Advanced backup, restore, and recovery strategies.
5. Experience in upgrading, patching and migrating databases.
6. Database performance and tuning experience
7. Experience in database contingency planning, configurations, and support.
8. Experience running SQLT Explain plans and other Advisors.
9. Application SQL tuning experience is a plus.
10. Experience in and Golden Gate replication.
11. Experience in KSH shell scripting.
12. Experience with Data Guard, RMAN and OEM.
13. Experience working with Oracle ExaCS and Exadata.
14. Manage and administer Oracle databases on Exadata Cloud Services, including configuration, optimization, and maintenance.
15. Required to provide off-hours support as and when needed.
16. Ability to work with virtual and in-person teams, and work under pressure or to a deadline.

Desired Skills:

1. HSODBC (Heterogeneous Services ODBC): Ability to enable Oracle databases to communicate with non-Oracle databases, including Microsoft SQL Server, for seamless data integration.
2. Microsoft SQL Server: Knowledge of MS SQL Server to facilitate database integration and interaction between Oracle and SQL Server environments.
3. Strong development & scripting background (Python, Perl a must; Power shell & Java script a plus)
4. Experience with Ansible and Ansible playbook development is a plus.
5. Experience in automation/integration tools like Jenkins.

Requirements:

• Minimum of 8 years of experience working as an Oracle Database Administrator in a fast-paced, large environment.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in Oracle Database Performance Tuning for large systems.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in Oracle RAC (Real Application Clusters) configuration and Performance Tuning, including RAC-Node-1.
• At least 8 years of experience working with Oracle VMs and Oracle OCI (Oracle Cloud Infrastructure).
• 5 years of recent experience scripting jobs with tools like Ansible and Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud Control.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience configuring Oracle ASM (Automatic Storage Management) setups.
• Experience with extreme process automation as a lead contributor.
• Strong Unix/Linux scripting skills.
• Willingness to participate in a 24x7 On-Call support rotation.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience performing database encryptions.
• Effective communication skills and strong documentation abilities.
• Self-driven individual contributor who is also a strong team player for optimal collaboration

Educational Qualifications:

• Required - Bachelor s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering or closely related or equivalent.
• Preferred - Master s degree in Management Information Systems (MIS), Computer Science, Big Data or Analytics or equivalent.

Travel:

• Open to travel based up on the nature of the engagement.
