Our Health and Medical Journals division manages an extensive collection of high impact journals. We are responsible for managing existing journals and society relationships, launching new journals, and acquiring new societies to ensure annual growth and customer satisfaction.

We take a strategic approach to deliver for our various audiences : authors, editors, researchers, societies, and academia.

About the Role

You will have responsibility for journals within our Health and Medical Journals group. As an associate publisher, you are able to manage and proactively develop a journal portfolio and to lead journal related changes.

You will build successful partnerships with individuals and institutions to develop mutually beneficial long-term collaboration.

Responsibilities

Building and maintaining relationship networks with our research and clinical communities, representing Elsevier

Working with editors, authors, editorial boards, societies, and the wider academic community to ensure copy flow of relevant, high-quality manuscripts

Managing portfolio, driving content growth, journal performance, and customer satisfaction

Monitoring continuous quality control and all aspects of day-to-day editorial, production and publishing operations and effectually addressing improvements where required

Teamwork : you will need to work closely with team members and other publishing colleagues to help deliver on collaborative projects and goals.

Requirements

Previous experience in an academic or publishing environment is desirable, with a proven track record of setting and realizing goals.

Experience of working with research or health care communities and stakeholders at all levels in those communities, adopting a range of communication channels, and delivering great customer experience

Ability to work efficiently and productively with colleagues and customers at different levels, in different locations, and from different cultures, and helping others where you can

Strong can-do attitude and team-oriented approach are essential for success in this role

Show the ability to be a self-starter and flexible to adapt to changing priorities

Be able to identify and understand market needs for potential business opportunities
