Remington Firearms is hiring a Sr. Sourcing Buyer.
The Sr. Sourcing Buyer will serve as a Commodity Leader. They will develop and implement the material sourcing processes and strategies with both domestic and foreign sources for metals, stampings, castings, machined parts, injection mold, wood, hardware, MIM and PM, finishing, metal treatments and purchased subassembly. Commodity Leaders will lead the strategic development, execution and ongoing spend and supplier management of commodity groups across multiple RemArms' locations.

Principal Duties and Accountabilities (*Essential Functions)
- Develop comprehensive strategies that meet organizational sourcing objectives. Develop and negotiate strategic short and long-term agreements offering year-over-year cost reduction, inventory management programs, and yearly productivity improvement.
- Develop and implement cost reduction strategies with existing and new suppliers while continuing to improve supplier quality and support the development of new suppliers and technologies.
- Develop and implement supply management strategies to provide uninterrupted flow of high-quality materials at the lowest total cost while optimizing service and inventory levels.
- Collaborate with team experts to develop scope of work, overall business requirements/ standards, draft and execute RFI, RFP and RFQ activities. Present to cross functional team as required.
- Establish internal cross-functional relationships with Sourcing, Finance, Purchasing, Operations Management, Safety, Sales & Marketing, Design / Engineering, Quality and Sr. Management to effectively develop and manage key part categories and help establish the organizational infrastructure of a world-class Strategic Sourcing Organization.
- Vet and develop long term supplier relationships to support organizational objectives.
- Perform competitive bids, market analysis, detailed cost/bid comparison analysis and supplier evaluations, utilizing metrics. Negotiate final agreements with suppliers and implement contracts.
- Support new product development process by working closely with engineering, quality, and manufacturing to develop prototypes and BOM’s.
- Analyze, maintain, and execute materials requirement plant MRP.
- Develop and implement strategic cost reduction roadmap.

Requirements

- B.A. or B.S. in related field and 5-7 years’ experience in sourcing raw materials and fabricated parts. CPM or CPIM and Lean manufacturing experience desired but not mandatory. Manufacturing experience a plus.
- Experience in S4 (SAP) Systems.
- Strong negotiating skills.
- Exceptional communication skills, strong project management/team leadership skills.
- Excellent computer skills in Excel, Word, and MS Project.
- Some travel required.
- Follow all safety rules and regulations.
