PALMER-BASED COMMERCIAL/RESIDENTIAL GENERAL CONTRACTOR IS ADDING TO A GROWING TEAM OF CONSTRUCTION LABORERS AND CRAFTSPEOPLE

Remote Alaska Solutions seeks additional experienced skilled craftspeople to join a growing team of construction professionals dedicated to modernizing the way Alaska builds. At its core, Remote Alaska Solutions and its various divisions specialize in trailblazing construction techniques that are not only more efficient than traditional methods, they are also significantly more sustainable and well-suited to our area’s toughest climate conditions.

New skilled laborers and craftspeople are needed to support a variety of structural concrete and civil construction projects across our entire enterprise. Previous skilled construction labor and/or carpentry experience is needed. Applicants must have a knack for thinking outside the box and an ability to thrive working in a fast-paced environment performing a variety of tasks that require physical stamina, deft hands and an eye for detail. Concrete forming experience is also an asset, though not required.

The ideal candidate will have his or her own truck and tools, and be willing to travel within a 60-mile radius. Most work will be located within the Anchorage Bowl and in the Mat-Su Valley, with occasional jobs that may require travel to more remote locations. Work hours are 7:00am-5:30pm, Monday through Friday (50 hours/week), year-round.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Helping to erect, level and install Insulated Concrete Formwork (ICF).
  • Constructing building frameworks, including walls, floors, roofs and door frames to code.
  • Reading, interpreting and following blueprints and building plans to meet client specifications.
  • Installing structures and fixtures, such as windows, doors, trim and cabinets.
  • Measuring, cutting or shaping wood, plastic and other materials.
  • Working collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Communicating effectively and working collaboratively with Project Manager(s), Site Supervisor, and other Construction Team Members.
  • Performing thorough, accurate, and timely work at job sites.
  • Loading and unloading materials.
  • Assisting tradespeople and construction team with concrete, carpentry, mechanical or other trade work as needed.
  • Maintaining company tools and equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum of 1 years of experience in a construction-related field. Some concrete experience is preferred.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic skill/experience with tools and equipment, such as saws, nail guns, drills, compressors, etc.
  • Possession of basic hand tools (the company will provide all other tools & equipment).
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to safely lift/carry heavy objects and perform sometimes strenuous physical labor, including climbing ladders/scaffolding.
  • Willingness to work outdoors in the elements and work overtime when necessary.
  • Must be able to adhere to all job-site safety requirements.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50 per week
