The Controller will be responsible for supporting the CFO with the management of all Corporate Finance and Accounting functions including accounting, reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. Our ideal Candidate will be a "hands on" leader and not hesitate to jump in when necessary to assist the team and be willing to wear numerous hats and continuously seeks more effective ways to streamline current processes. The Controller will plan and direct the daily accounting and finance operations of the company.
Responsibilities
* Manage and oversee all General Accounting and Finance functions performed within department
- Implement and maintain Corporate Accounting policy and procedure system to minimize risk
* Perform and submit financial reports, ensuring compliance with all GAAP and IFRS Standards
* Analyze corporate financial performance vs budget and report with recommendations to Management
* Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, sales and use tax laws and financial policies
* Analyze business processes and recommend cost reduction, streamlined and more effective methods
* Serve as primary contact for external auditors coordinating and assisting with audits
* Other duties and ad hoc projects as needed
Requirements
* Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related
* 10 years' General Accounting with 5 years' financial leadership experience Ability to support and provide strategic business support and partnership to CFO
- Stellar leadership skills with an "open door/hands on" management style
- Strong history of meeting deadlines, high level of accuracy and problem solving skills
* Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and business systems to streamline processes
- Possess stellar communication and organizational skills
- Possess upbeat personality and a high energy, "can do" mentality
- Advanced MS Excel & MS Office Suite; MS Dyn 365 and/or similar ERP platform proficiency
- CPA and/or CMA designations highly preferred
- Experience in and/or interest in the Aviation industry a big plus
