What are the responsibilities and job description for the Server position at Renaissance Providence?
JOB OVERVIEW: Servers greet and take the guests orders, deliver room service in a professional efficient manner, do all necessary set-up side work as assigned and answer any guests’ questions about the hotel and neighborhood alike.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Responsible for billing all guests and employees who order food and beverage.
- Take and serve guests orders promptly and according to service standards.
- Do all necessary set-up side work as assigned.
- Cleaning and maintaining restaurant, bar, and coffee bar area.
- Operate square register.
- Maintain processional composure in high stress situations in order to make last minute changes.
- Multi-tasking skills.
- Be able to have written and oral communication skills.
- Telephone etiquette.
- Maintain a constant awareness of hotel amenity schedules and promotions.
- Check food before serving it to guests to ascertain that appearance, temperature and portions are correct.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Must have the ability to communicate.
- Self-starting personality with an even disposition.
- Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times.
- Can communicate well with guests.
- Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co-workers with their job duties and be a team player.
- Must be able to withstand prolonged periods of standing and/or walking. Ability to lift at least 30 lbs.
ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Pleasant personality.
- Neat in appearance and well groomed.
- Maintain proper associate uniform standards.
- Maintain black running shoe which is slip resistant, enclosed toe and heel.
- Always follow all hotel rules and policies.
