Bilingual Medical Assistant, Nephrology ( Floater)

Overview:
We are a Nephrology practice seeking a skilled and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a crucial role in providing quality patient care and assisting healthcare professionals in various clinical and administrative tasks. Responsibilities:

- Schedule appointments and manage patient flow in a fast pace clinic

-Answering and returning phone calls.

-Verify insurance and authorizations for procedures.

-Checking patients in and collecting copays. Checking patients out and giving patients instructions for follow up appointment.

- Provide patient education on diets, medications and procedures.
- Perform vital signs measurements, including blood pressure, temperature and pulse.

-Medication refills
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, including patient history, allergies, and medications

Experience:
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant and knowledge of front office duties

- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills

- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy
- Proficiency in medical terminology
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems. A plus for experience with Athena and EPIC but not required.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to provide exceptional patient service

Requirements:

* Must be able to float to our various locations Pasadena, Baytown, Southeast Memorial, Clear Lake, and Northeast Houston offices. Mileage reimbursement.

* Bilingual

* Must be able to work front and back office.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
