Network Engineer

SUMMARY

This Network Engineer position is specialized and very focused on Andersen's Firewall environment and requires expert level experience with Firewalls and IPS policies. Although having broad network experience is also an expectation, this person is responsible for designing, implementing, and overseeing the Palo Alto firewall infrastructure (Prisma Access FWaaS and on-premise FW's) to ensure network security, prevent unauthorized access, and protect against cyber threats. This role involves managing & optimizing firewall policies, monitoring network traffic, maintaining technical currency, and collaborating with other IT and security teams to maintain a robust security posture.

Other Network experience / expectations include:

• Ensuring successful and secure network operation across multiple data centers, plants, production facilities, and offices.
• Having a proven track record of installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex network infrastructures.
• Assisting with the network architecture and design, engineering, and administration of all network, telecommunications, and security-related hardware and software components.
• Involvement with planning, designing, and delivering network solutions for a large manufacturing environment.
• Ability to create and implement networks to best-practice, while maintaining network security and integrity.
• Possess project management skills and work effectively with cross-functional teams.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Managing and monitoring Palo Alto firewalls (models ..., ..., ..., ...), Prisma Access FWaaS, Global Protect, and Prisma SD-WAN
• Implementing firewall best practices for security, performance, and protection against advanced threats -- manage firewall policies, security rules, and access controls
• Utilizing tools like Panorama, CLI, packet capture, and expedition for management and troubleshooting
• Monitoring and Incident Response - Investigate and respond to security incidents, breaches, and anomalies. Collaborating with incident response team to contain and mitigate threats
• Collaborate with network engineers to ensure proper network segmentation and traffic flow
• Manage and perform administration of all networks, security, and associated equipment (SASE, SD-WAN, routers, switches, firewalls, etc.).
• Serve as subject matter expert for Andersen's FW environment.
• Manage small to medium size infrastructure technical currency projects.

* QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

MUST HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

• 5 years experience in configuring and managing firewalls and other network equipment with a detailed understanding of security configurations.
• Experience managing firewalls in large enterprise environments
• L4-7 service experience (Palo Alto Network preferred)
• Core/Data Center, Distributed, IT/OT network development experience.
• Preferred: Expert-level knowledge of Palo Alto OS, Panorama, CLI, Prisma Access, Prisma SD-WAN.

NICE-TO-HAVE QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience working with network automation and/or network programming.
• Experience working in the manufacturing industry.
• Experience with Palo Alto, Aruba, Juniper.
• Experience with SD-WAN, FWaaS, SASE
• Experience with IOT.

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
