Youth Mentor Assistant

Position Summary: Under the supervision of the Youth Mentor, incumbent will assist with the development and coordination of the Youth Mentor Program.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Youth Mentor Program (i.e. phones, data input, photocopies, purchases, processing program paperwork, etc.).

• Assist the Youth Mentor with program planning and implementation.

• Assist with supervision and coordination of youth groups and activities.

• Attend youth group meetings, activities, and events.

• Attend staff training and youth conferences/trips.

• Assist with research on youth outreach, prevention, and civic engagement.

• Assist with coordination of other programs/departments on youth involvement and opportunities.

• Assist with community outreach and support for promotion, recruitment, and retention of youth in youth groups, activities, and events.

• Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or GED.

• Would prefer someone with experience working with youth and youth programming.

• Must be willing to attend program meetings, classes, activities, and conferences.

• Must be a positive role model for youth and support the youth as leaders in their community.

• Must be willing to prepare written reports and making presentations to various audiences.

• Must have the ability to operate a personal computer with various programs.

• Must be proficient in audio manipulation software.

• Experience with social media platforms. (i.e. Facebook, You Tube, Instagram)

• Must be proficient in Photo Shop, Publisher, Adobe related software.

• Must have experience in photo documentation.

• Must have experience in maintaining computer records and data.

• Must possess a valid driver’s license able to be bonded.

• Must pass a security background check and drug test.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $17.83 - $19.00 per hour
