What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Assistant position at Renzi Foodservice?
Summary:
The Purchasing Assistant will be responsible for analyzing and understanding all purchasing policies and procedures established by Renzi Foodservice. This person will be responsible for inventory management and will ensure that the inventory for Renzi Foodservice is appropriate and is procured at the best possible cost to meet the needs of the purchaser in terms of quality and quantity, time, and location. The Purchasing Assistant will also be responsible for related administrative duties, such as tracking orders, ensuring records are accurate, and effectively reporting on supply levels.
Essential Job Functions:
- Analysis of weekly inventory reports; including, but not limited to, the suspended items with zero on hand report, item obsolete report, and items per vendor with supply weeks report.
- Development and tracking of key purchasing functions; including, but not limited to, order confirmations, DOT ordering, auditing, and correction of receiving items and tracking.
- Confirm purchase orders in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure that overall responsibilities support continuous growth for the company’s objectives.
- Back up or relief support for assigned positions within the Purchasing department.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma
Qualifications:
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel) and AS400.
- Solid knowledge and understanding of purchasing processes, policy, and systems.
- Ability to work independently and in a team-based atmosphere.
- Strong interpersonal skills; strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
- Highly organized; accurate and precise attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Able to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
