RSC is North Carolina’s premier provider of compassionate and patient focused fertility and reproductive services, serving our patients with the utmost integrity and concern, delivered through a dedicated, diverse, and expert team of physicians, scientists, and staff. We have an opening for a full-time Collections Specialist/Biller to join our highly motivated and results driven team. This is primarily a remote position; however, there may be times you will be asked to come into the Charlotte office for training, team meetings, and other administrative reasons.

The Collections Specialist/Biller position is responsible and accountable for all aspects of patient financial reimbursement. This includes, but is not limited to, patient invoices, claims submission, third-party reimbursement, procedure input, processing claims, payment posting, reconciliation, and daily and monthly close.

The ideal candidate will have the ability to quickly establish credibility, confidence, and trust with our patients, especially on the phone. The ideal candidate will be empathic, enthusiastic, a self-starter, a problem-solver, strong negotiator, and a team player with a positive attitude toward the job. Must be dedicated to world class customer service.

Required academic credentials and professional experience:

  • High School diploma. Associate Degree in accounting or business preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a physician office as part of the accounts receivable, revenue cycle team. Women’s healthcare experience preferred.
  • Strong skills in office computer applications, including EMR software, Microsoft Office, and Excel. Keyboard skills 25 wpm required.
  • Proficient with medical terminology; ICD-10 and CPT coding required.
  • Can clearly and succinctly explain EOBs, insurance deductibles, co-pays, and co-insurance.
  • Understands payment plans and third-party loan programs.
  • High level listening skills. Ability to communicate accurately and concisely.
  • Aptitude to work independently and demonstrate good judgment.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Must be organized and work efficiently.
  • Must demonstrate attention to detail and urgency with all patient financial functions.
  • Is reliable. It is an essential function of this position to report to work on time, ready to work scheduled hours on a consistent basis. Some overtime may be expected on an occasional, as-needed basis.

This is a FT position, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
