The ideal candidate will have 5 years experience working in an IT Managed Services Provider environment as a technical leader. This is a frontline management role with three primary responsibilities: services delivery, personnel management, and revenue generation. Healthcare industry experience is a plus.
Job Description
The Remote Infrastructure Services Manager is responsible for the successful delivery of consulting services as well as the coordination of activities and information between key engagement stakeholders. The ISM is also responsible for the management of consulting personnel, which would include participation in staffing decisions, performance reviews, and career development support. Finally, this role is responsible for growing revenue in assigned accounts, primarily through effective account and engagement management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Ensures successful delivery of consulting services, particularly through effective engagement and customer management
Personally delivers billable consulting services, primarily, in the context of managing engagements and providing team oversight
Meets assigned revenue targets through growth in assigned accounts and effective utilization of direct reports
Leads the scoping, sizing, and estimating efforts for assigned engagements
Manages the work of the engagement teams under their direction (e.g., direct, matrix, or subcontractor) to ensure optimal resource utilization and engagement execution
Assists direct reports in personal and career development by providing regular feedback, coaching and guidance on personal development, and encouraging direct reports to take ownership of their personal career path
Participates in recruiting and employee development activities to ensure a balanced team with the right set of skills
Grows revenue for the assigned region through the effective management and expansion of the existing account(s)
Ensures that all assigned team-members have a solid understanding of client business objectives and the plans in place to attain those objectives
Develop best practices and standards that support the consistent hand-off and maintenance of environment
Interact with Healthcare IT Services team to develop infrastructure standards that support each EMR application
Develop network standards. Implementation of Network services.
Work with program managers to assess the supportability of solutions being provided
Support the sales team for solutions that require scoping or design
Drive the technical relationship with assigned clients
Develop automation to facilitate standardized delivery
Qualifications
Bachelors degree in computer science or equivalent work experience
Professional IT Certifications: CCIE or equivalent experience, also helpful: MCSA, or MCSE, Citrix CCEA or CCIA, Cisco CCNP, or VMware VCP
REQUIRED: 5 years in a Managed Services Provider environment as a technical leader
Prior experience leading the scoping and delivery of technology services engagements, including project and customer engagement
Ability to drive project-based work and to manage tasks, schedules, deliverables, budget, and project risk
Proven experience building and leading a technical team
Demonstrated experience building and scaling a professional services business with accountability for financial targets
Excellent troubleshooting skills
Understanding of support tools, techniques, and how technology is used to provide IT services
The willingness to generate and maintain clear technical documentation and records
The ability to provide technical support and problem resolution for unfamiliar software and hardware
Familiarity with ticketing systems or professional service automation tools
The capacity to learn existing and emerging technologies
Exceptional communication skills
Ability to adapt to changes quickly
Self‐motivated with the ability to work in a fast moving environment
