The Company
Rescue is a full-service marketing agency with a mission to make healthy behaviors easier and more appealing. Since our founding in 2001, Rescue has been exclusively focused on researching, developing, and implementing positive social change campaigns in public health. We provide research, strategy, creative, production, web, traditional media, social media, policy change, youth engagement and experiential marketing services to government, non-profit, and healthcare clients in over 25 states and provinces, as well as to federal government agencies.
Rescue’s health behavior change marketing campaigns focus on topics such as tobacco, obesity, substance and alcohol prevention; the promotion of exercise, eating healthy foods, early childhood development, and after school programs; and other topics that promote healthy living. Rescue’s behavior change campaigns focus on diverse populations within teen (13 - 17), young adult (18 - 26), and adult (18 ) populations in both rural and urban areas, resulting in a wide variety of campaign styles and strategies.

The Job
We are looking for a talented Strategist who can see the world from other people’s points of view. This role is all about determining the right audience, the right message for that audience, and inspiring creative teams to make great, effective work. To be successful in this role you’ll need to have end-to-end experience from initial data digging, working with research, developing briefs, presentations and longer form papers, incorporating comms plans, leveraging measurement and analytics, and guiding both research and creative along the way.
Day-To-Day Activities:
Strategic development
Develop strategic positionings for public health brands, and see that strategy across all campaign elements, analytics and evaluation
Determine behavioral health outcomes / goals for our campaigns
Develop clear, succinct creative briefs, decks and papers for new and existing brands
Outline messaging architecture - what a brand will say, over time
Research partnership
Use a combo of quant research and cultural trends to tell a story
Clearly outline qual and quant research needs
Participate in focus groups and help define learnings / recommendations
Delve into quant trackers & data to find those hidden gems that can prove your theories
- Creative partnership
- Inspire and guide creative teams based on strategies listed above
Provide insights, facts and ideas for the team to work with as necessary
Ensure brand and assets are on strategy and appropriate for our audiences, behaviors and clients
- Comms planning partnership
Work with comms planners to integrate comms frameworks and messaging
Collaborate on campaign objectives and KPIs
Partner and connect the dots cross-channel, to ensure the development of cohesive communications plans, strategies, and programs
Collaboration & presentation
Work with, partner with and inspire across teams
Meet with clients to listen, present and discuss strategic pov
Present and discuss work both internally and externally
Required Qualifications:
9 years relevant experience OR Bachelor's Degree 4 years relevant experience OR
Master's Degree 2 years relevant experience
Marketing, ad agency experience preferred
Extensive writing experience to guide creative teams
Experience with client-facing work
Ability to learn about / understand a wide range of points of view

Physical Requirements:
Able to remain in a sitting position for prolonged periods of time and stoop, bend, reach, climb stairs, and move freely throughout the building for the performance of duties. Able to read from a computer or laptop monitor for several hours at a time including fonts of various sizes from a variety of sources. Able to travel nationwide as needed to meet with clients, coworkers, or attend meetings and seminars.
