The Company

Since our founding in 2001, Rescue has been exclusively focused on researching, developing, and implementing positive social change campaigns in public health. We provide research, strategy, creative, production, web, traditional media, social media, policy change, youth engagement and experiential marketing services to government, non-profit, and healthcare clients in over 25 states and provinces, as well as to federal government agencies.
Rescue’s health behavior change marketing campaigns focus on topics such as tobacco, obesity, substance and alcohol prevention; the promotion of exercise, eating healthy foods, early childhood development, and after school programs; and other topics that promote healthy living. Rescue’s behavior change campaigns focus on diverse populations within teen (13 - 17), young adult (18 - 26), and adult (18 ) populations in both rural and urban areas, resulting in a wide variety of campaign styles and strategies.

The Job
We are looking for a dynamic, high-performing Video Editor II, Animation with experience in animation and post production. The ideal candidate is a storyteller who has a passion for behavior change, history of bringing motion graphics to life, and is capable of editing media in an accelerated timeline.
Day-To-Day Activities:
Video Editing
  • Sets up folder structure on the server for project;
  • Imports footage after a production;
  • Creates proxies once footage has been ingested;
  • Creates a WIP document for each project & shares it with team;
  • Starts a new sequence for every size/version of video;
  • Integrates animation, graphics, and motion effects in post-production;
  • Oversees video post-production activities which includes reviewing footage, making editorial decisions, rough cuts, audio adjustment, visual effects, graphics, titles, music, sound editing, color correction & final editing using Adobe Premiere.
Animation
  • Sets up folder structure on the server for project;
  • Imports assets from design;
  • Setting up appropriate project;
  • Creates a WIP document for each project & shares it with team;
  • Starts a new composition for every size/version of video;
  • Oversees animation post-production activities which includes reviewing assets, making editorial decisions, rough cuts, audio adjustment, visual effects, graphics, titles, music, sound editing, color correction & final animation using Adobe After Effects.
Required Qualifications:
  • Adobe Certified Professional in Premiere Pro Certification;
  • Professional experience with Adobe CC, including Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Photoshop;
  • Experience in sound design:
  • Knowledge of DaVinci Resolve:
  • Technical knowledge of codecs, exporting, transcoding and compressing video files.
  • A strong creativity that can adapt to various brand guidelines;
  • A strong sense of current video production and editing trends including, but not limited to, web, social media, television, etc.;
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, editorial flow, and understanding of the different phases of video production;
  • Must be comfortable taking direction, working in a shared workspace and keeping a positive, friendly, and team-first attitude;
  • Able to accept feedback in professional manner, not taking anything personally and learning and growing every day;
  • Willingness to work different schedules including occasional weekends as needed on productions;
  • Experience editing for and working with corporate customers and comfortable working with high-level, corporate executives and product leaders;
  • Experience editing for story;
  • Outgoing personality, self-educator and problem solver that takes pride in your work as you continuously develop your skills;
  • Strong understanding of signal flow - inputs, outputs and general comfortability with hardware solutions;
  • Experience as a one-person band and with small teams;
  • Can manage a dynamic workload and meet deadlines while exceeding customer expectation;
  • Can multi-task well while balancing multiple priorities;
  • Creative problem-solving skills;
  • Highly organized both with equipment and files/projects;
  • Strong understanding of the importance of music in the art of storytelling;
  • Capable of creating a shot-by-shot rough storyboard based off of a script;
  • Provide a reel and/or links to work that showcase specific animation work and editing examples. Portfolio should show that you are equal parts animator and editor as well as display video content with a wide range of styles.

COVID-19 Vaccine Mandate:
All employees hired must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 prior to their first day of employment. This includes employees who telecommute and work remotely. For Pfizer or Moderna, that is two weeks after an employee has received the second dose in a 2-dose primary series. For Johnson and Johnson (J&J)/Janssen, that is two weeks after an employee has received a primary single-dose.
Physical Requirements:
Able to remain in a sitting position for prolonged periods of time and stoop, bend, reach, climb stairs, and move freely throughout the building for the performance of duties. Able to read from a computer or laptop monitor for several hours at a time including fonts of various sizes from a variety of sources. Able to travel nationwide as needed to meet with clients, coworkers, or attend meetings and seminars. Must be able to move boxed work documents and/or equipment up to 40 pounds, in and out of office for travel by car and by air.
