Job Summary and Qualifications

Under the general direction of the Director, Manager or Nurse Manager, coordinates and provides patient care and assumes individual responsibility and accountability for the provision of nursing care. Nursing care is provided in accordance with hospital policies and procedures, applicable state Nursing Practice Acts, ANA Standards of Practice and the generic and unit structure standards.

About this unit:

• RNs on this unit and very patient focused – making sure the new moms receive the best experience possible
• 20-bed post-partum unit with couplet care
• Ability to cross train to the Labor and Delivery and NICU units

What qualifications you will need:

• Excellent oral/written communication, interpersonal, organizational and leadership skills required.
• Currently licensed as a registered professional nurse in the state(s) of practice and/or has an active compact license, in accordance with law and regulation.
• American Heart Association Basic Lifesaving (BLS) required.
• NRP required within 6 months of hire..
• Must be able to pass Level 1 Nursery Competencies with 1 year
• All credentials must be maintained.
• Previous clinical experience preferred.
