Pay : $24-30 / hr or an annual equivalent of $49,920 - $62,400

Summary :

This is a hands-on position and requires interaction with customers as well as the ability to provide support via telephone and remotely.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities : Other duties may be assigned.

  • Diagnose and resolve computer and printer problems
  • Perform computer upgrades
  • Setup and deploy new computers
  • Setup and onboard / offboard staff members
  • Provide limited on-call technical support
  • Maintain individual schedule with minimum supervision
  • Keep accurate records of work

Competency :

  • Microsoft Windows 10 & 11 support and training
  • Microsoft M365, OneDrive & Teams support and training
  • Computer hardware troubleshooting, upgrades, and parts replacement.
  • Basic networking knowledge
  • Ability to teach and train small groups
  • Ability to create and maintain accurate documentation

Education / Experience :

Technical College diploma with IT emphasis or equivalent; or two years hands-on IT experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Ability :

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.

Ability to draft reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Math Ability :

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.

Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

The employee is occasionally required to stand.

Transportation :

Computer Support Specialist must maintain a valid driver’s license with personal liability insurance. In addition, the use of personal vehicles is required to facilitate work at customer locations.

A reliable vehicle is required. The employee is also frequently required to drive and must be able handle driving in adverse weather conditions.
