We are currently seeking out a Regional Quality Manager to lead our Quality efforts in our Litho Flexo Grafics location in Sandy, Utah. This position will ideally be based in the Salt Lake City, UT, area. The right candidate will have extensive experience in the commercial printing space, a good working knowledge of labels is a huge plus. Previous multi- site experience will also be extremely helpful in this role. The Quality Manager will develop, implement and coordinate product assurance programs to prevent or eliminate defects in new or existing products. They will lead the charge in driving quality focus and execution throughout the organization to set the standard in the Industry.

Responsibilities

  • Develops, implements and maintains quality programs including but not limited to SQF, ISO and other industry-relevant certifications, Continuous Improvement initiatives and UL certification.
  • Develops implements and maintains a Color Management System (CMS) that ensures consistent color match and reproduction.
  • Analyzes, evaluates and presents information concerning factors such as business situations, production capabilities, manufacturing problems, economic trends and design and development of new products for consideration by other members of the management team.
  • Suggests and debates alternative methods and procedures for solving problems and meeting changing market opportunities.
  • Works in collaboration with other top management personnel to formulate and establish company policies, operating procedures and goals as they relate to the Quality System.
  • Develops initial and subsequent modifications to the Quality program to delineate areas of responsibility, personnel requirements and operational procedures within program.
  • Evaluates contents of reports from Quality team members and confers with senior managers for purposes of identifying product performance issues and formulating solutions.
  • Works with Operations, Purchasing and other department leaders to establish, delineate and review Quality policies and procedures, to coordinate functions and operations between departments and to establish responsibilities and procedures for attaining objectives.
  • Reviews and analyzes technical problems, product performance issues and quality policies/practices to formulate and recommend solutions to problems or changes to procedures.
  • Visits and confers with representatives of material and component vendors to obtain information related to supply qualities, the capacity of the vendor to meet orders and review vendor quality standards.
  • Confers with senior managers from Operations, Purchasing and Technology and Product Development regarding quality assurance of new product designs and manufactured products on market to identify and rectify problems.
  • Reviews technical publications, articles and abstracts to stay abreast of technical developments in industry.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Directly supervises employees in the Quality Department.
  • Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
  • Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems
 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree with 5-7 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Five year minimum of Quality experience working within a commercial printing environment.
  • Experience in ISO 9001 is desired.
