JOB SUMMARY:
Plans, directs, coordinates and executes the Receiving, Storage and Transportation activities of the company. Arranges transportation for outbound and inbound traffic. Oversees the preparation of all sales orders for shipment. Executes the shipment of orders and the receipt of materials. Responsible for warehousing. Supervises Warehouse Coordinator and General Manufacturing Operators. This can be a hands-on position. This position reports to the Manufacturing Operations Manager.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Primary point of contact for shipping and document preparation for Royal’s priority just–in-time shipments
- Works with Sales staff on a daily basis coordinating all shipping related to sales orders
- Prepares, packs, and ships product samples
- Responsible for inventory management and accuracy and conducts monthly, quarterly and annual inventory counts.
- Monitors outbound shipments during inventory counts to maintain inventory accuracy
- When required, coordinates with purchasing and American Chemet transportation to schedule in-bound copper chops and raw materials deliveries and returns.
- Responsible for warehousing and storage of raw materials, work in process and finished goods
- Manages the daily picking of orders from the warehouse for shipping
- Manages and sets forth daily workflow schedules for General Manufacturing Operators and Warehouse Coordinator based on sales order requirements and production schedules.
- Maintains a strong relationship with transportation suppliers and brokers to schedule pickup dates for outbound traffic
- Prepares all shipping documents including bills of lading, export documents, pallet labels, product tags, and Material Safety Data Sheets
- Inspects and verifies reclaim shipments
- Negotiates rates for freight
- Reviews and approves outbound freight invoice.
- Maintains files relate to shipping and receiving.
- Responsible for final product and shipping dock-checks for orders and responsible for shipping accuracy
- Prepares daily shipping report
- Files claims and monitors them for payment
- Maintains forklift operator credentials in order to assist with truck loading and aiding the General Manufacturing Operators and Warehouse Coordinator in getting orders ready for shipment and off-loading of receivables.
- Responsible for checking inbound receivers for accuracy and works with purchasing with any discrepancies.
- Maintains approved freight carrier list.
- Maintains knowledge of regulatory requirements related to all package and shipping labels and environmental concerns
- Responsible for ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 processes in Logistics
- Responsible for OSHA requirements in Logistics.
