RHD's Kent ACT Team is looking for a full-time Certified Counselor (CAADC/CCDP) to join our Team!

How You Can Make a Real Impact:
The Certified Counselor (CAADC/CCDP) on an Assertive Community Treatment Team (ACT) is the heart and soul of the Team. They often take on the the more complicated cases that see the least amount of progress. The Certified Counselor is able to navigate all the aspects of substance abuse counseling, making contacts with rehabilitation facilities, advocating for the needs of the consumer and assisting to determine what is needed to ensure a smooth transition when a consumer is ready to leave a treatment facility. The knowledge and clinical expertise can help the team to meet the  needs of ACT participants with complex co-occurring experiences.

The mission of Resources of Human Development (RHD) is to provide caring, effective and innovative services that empower people of all abilities as they build better lives for themselves, their families and their communities. RHD's multi-faceted programs serve people with a variety of challenges that include intellectual and developmental disabilities, mental illness, substance abuse and homelessness. The DE ACT Team provides non-traditional, community-based mental health treatment to promote the recovery and community integration of 100 adults with serious mental illnesses.

Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Conduct screening and assessments
  • Assist in the development of recovery plans and reviews in collaboration with the consumer
  • Document treatment contacts using collaborative documentation
  • Demonstrate the ability to provide treatment that is recovery-oriented
  • Provide empirically supported individual and/or group psychotherapy utilizing approaches such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing and Integrated Dual Disorder Treatment 
  • Provide education to team members regarding assessments and interventions
  • Provide culturally competent services that are individualized to client needs and reflect the integration of their race, color, religious creed, disability, handicap, ancestry, sexual orientation, gender, gender expression, national origin, age and sex.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
  • Perform on-call duties in rotation with other team members, which may include unusual work hours
  • May have to drive in inclement weather

Required Qualifications:
  • Required Experience: One year experience working in Substance Abuse, Co-occurring or Mental Health 
  • Required Education: Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Social Work or related field PLUS one year of experience Preferred
  • CAADC or CCDP in Substance Abuse required
  • Ability to pass a drug screening and background check
  • Valid driver license, current car insurance and own vehicle to be used while working
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse team and remain organized and self-motivated
  • Proficient in computers

Salary: $22.81 hourly
