The Compensation Analyst partners with stakeholders on employer compensation programs, including base pay, long and short-term incentives that align with company objectives for recruiting, retention, and employee engagement as well as audit and evaluate jobs, develop pay structures, grades and guidelines. This role performs a variety of responsible, professional, technical and analytical classifications and compensation activities related to the maintenance of the organizations compensation system.

This role works with the HRIS/HR Systems and Projects Manager to continually review and seek better ways to utilize our current and/or future HRIS/HR systems to drive efficiencies and effective ways of working and provide information and insight to stakeholders.

Responsibilities/Duties

Job Descriptions Review
  • Benchmark jobs against survey data, other market intelligence and use data analysis techniques to determine competitive compensation ranges for each position
  • Gather data from market-based compensation surveys to assess results and market trends
  • Partner with HR to prepare job descriptions, job analysis, job evaluations and job classifications
  • Partner with the Talent Acquisition and Retention team to attract, retain and motivate high quality employees while reducing turnover and enhancing our company’s profile as best place to work, as part of RHD’s Strategic Objective #2: Employer of Choice
  • Participate in job salary and labor market surveys to determine prevailing pay rates and benefits
  • Audit job descriptions and partner with HR for job-specific findings and recommendations


Analytics

  • Research employee compensation in similar industries; based on findings, recommend changes or updates to the company’s existing policies
  • Prepare and present summary reports of job analysis and compensation analysis information
  • Assess employee needs by conducting organizational surveys to find out what motivates and engages employees
  • Plan and communicate preferred methods and best practices for hiring, training, compensating, and evaluating employees
  • Partner with HR departments to define a fair, equitable and competitive total compensation and benefits package that fits and is aligned to our company’s Strategic Plan
  • Participate in compensation surveys, conduct research and analysis on market competitiveness, pay equity, and compensation trends


Compliance

  • Partner with HR Compliance on updated/new federal, state and local employment regulations, compensation policies, and human resource procedures
  • Ensure RHD compensation practices are in compliance with current legislation (pay equity, human rights, etc.)
  • Develop and document procedures to streamline processes and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements                                                 

Other

  • Conduct ongoing research into emerging trends, issues, and best practices
  • Provide analytical support and data analysis on projects
  • DOL/EEOC/OFCCP data support - pulling and manipulating employee data from HRIS/HR systems
  • Support RHD’s Strategic Objectives Plan
  • May be required to be on-call or work after normal operating hours
  • Position may perform all or some of the responsibilities above and other duties as assigned

Required Experience

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience as a Compensation Analyst required

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field required
  • CCP or SHRM-CP preferred

Required Qualifications

  • Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, chart/visual presentations, etc.)
  • Understanding of Federal, State and Local rules/regulations where RHD operates
  • Understanding of Project Management
  • Compensation software experience (CompAnalyst, PayScale etc.)
  • Experience with Compensation Cycle Management and HR processes

RHD employees and programs in the City of Philadelphia are required to follow the COVID vaccine mandate. Revised PDPH guidance allows for new hires to be partially vaccinated at the time of hire. This means they have received at least one shot in a two-dose series or a single dose in a one-dose series before beginning in-person shifts. The final dose must be received within 8 weeks of hire (start date).  This currently does not include boosters
