Description/Job Summary
The RN Manager is responsible for the oversight and delivery of quality nursing service to RHD Individuals, residing in the Glassport LTSR program and will serve as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team to provide support to the program as well as ensuring the well-being of each Individual. The RN Manager will maintain and ensure the confidentiality of the Individuals that reside in our programs while upholding the integrity of the RHD values as outlined in the policy and procedure manual.
Responsibilities/Duties
Develops appropriate nursing/ medical policy and procedures, as well as necessary nursing protocols to ensure the health and safety of the Individuals that reside and work in Glassport LTSR.
Accepts and implements Doctor's orders for Individuals
Develops and improve upon daily assessment forms, nursing notes, etc as necessary and required to promote communication and quality services.
Demonstrates professional judgement, uses problem solving techniques, time-management principles and delegates appropriately.
Performs chart audits to ensure that staff documentation is accurately reflecting the medical/ behavioral health statuses of our Individuals.
Oversee the medical and psychiatric health needs of the Individuals that reside at the program by facilitating communication among members of their treatment team.
Act as an advocate for the Consumers we serve.
Provide support and training with regards to wound care, diabetic counseling and other medical conditions as necessary.
Regular review of Individuals' charts to include Medication Administration Records (MAR's), lab result, medical consult forms, etc, to ensure compliance with program policies and procedures.
Provide educational counseling and support for Individuals regarding their medical/ behavioral health.
Provide trainings for staff in areas of medical conditions, treatments and prevention.
Facilitate/ coordinate educational groups for Individuals on medical and psychiatric needs
Provide medical orientation training to nursing staff.
Assess and evaluate new referrals for admission to the program.
Ensure that medical supplies are ordered and available to support the medical needs of the program.
Participate in staff meetings and other meetings as necessary.
Provide on-call coverage 24/7 via phone for emergency and consultation.
Other duties as required by the Program Director.
Required Experience
5 years direct care nursing experience with a background in behavioral health preferredRequired Education
RN, BSN preferredRequired Qualifications
Excellent communication and writing skills
Ability to support and implement RHD and PA BHH values and beliefs
Ability to engage clients and staff in effective, therapeutic and healthy interactions
Ability to think holistically and creatively
Strong organizational, clinical, and interpersonal skills
Ability to work both independently and as a member of an interdisciplinary team
Minimum of 5 years of medical experience
Current driver's license required
State police and FBI clearances
Program Summary
RHD Glassport is a long-term structured mental health residential program wiith on-site adult outpatient treatment programming. Glassport LTSR serves 12 adult male clients with mental health needs and forensic histories.Salary : $97,864 - $0
