Job Summary: The Strategic Sourcing Specialist is responsible for the identifying and securing strategic cost saving through effective analytical skills, sourcing, and contract negotiations for Restek. This position will lead projects through cross functional collaboration, build relationships with key business partners, and influence change. You will also assist the procurement team in choosing, developing, and monitoring the performance of Restek’s approved suppliers and requires extensive experience in all phases of Procurement and Contract management including a working knowledge of MRP and inventory control, developing and driving sourcing strategies, collaborating across the entire organization.
This role will be hybrid. It does require some weekly on-site time in the office located in Bellefonte, PA.
Job Duties:
- Identifies, solicits, facilitates, and secures manufacturer/suppliers domestically and globally across a wide range of categories to meet or exceed all supply chain initiatives: cost reductions, payment terms, ethics, integrity, and reliability for the long- term benefit of Restek
- Analyze spend, market data, and use critical thinking to develop, prioritize, and launch sourcing opportunities.
- Manage categories by developing sourcing strategies, commodity assessments, and engaging stakeholders, to meet Restek’s long term strategy.
- Prepare and present business cases for new spend management opportunities to align all business units and support partners and, if approved, develop and execute implementation plans to ensure sourcing benefits are fully utilized.
- Manage supplier selection process and provide data to ensure informed selection decisions. Works directly with the Sr. Buyer’s to guide and assist them in this process.
- Review new and expiring contracts to determine best course of action based on business requirements. Coordinate with key support partners and Legal to execute optimal contracts. Works with legal counsel to ensure all details for procurement are outlined and achieved during negotiations.
- Some transaction work may be assigned as need.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Statistics, Finance, or related discipline or equivalent combination of education/experience. Masters in similar field preferred
- 5 or more years of experience in a Sr. Buyer/Planner role or proven abilities in advanced strategic procurement
- CPSM, CPIM/CSCP or SCM certification or a related certification required with a preference towards ISM certification and a track record of continued professional development in related disciplines
- Advanced Microsoft office knowledge, especially Excel, proficient working knowledge of ERP/MRP system, ability to train others, and understand of how the system activities impact business and other departments

- Ability to review contracts at a significant level, being able to review independently and communicate effectively, with Legal, the areas of risk and recommend the changes needed to better support Restek’s position.

- Ability to make sound decisions with a high level of discretion and provide input into strategic planning for the department
- Some (10%) travel, both domestic and international, required.
