Capital-Fixed Assets Analyst

Primary Purpose
The primary purpose of this position is to lead all aspects of accounting, controls, budgeting, and internal and external reporting and ensuring maximization of working capital and accuracy of all responsible financial transactions. This position acts as a consultant providing guidance/decisions on accounting treatment and proper application of internal controls associated with area of responsibility.  This position is responsible for implementing and maintaining accounting procedures and controls for the responsible department in accordance with established service level agreements, company, industry, and accounting policy guidelines.
Duties and Responsibilities

• Lead and direct the period financial close activities for the RBS supported companies within area of responsibility ensuring accurate and timely preparation of all financial reports in conformity with GAAP and ACM (Accounting Control Memorandum).
• Perform period and quarterly analysis of balances including recommendations and booking any necessary entries to the General Ledger. 
• Oversee all sub systems interfaces are verified to general ledger balances daily, weekly and monthly basis in compliance with controls. Focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices
• Initiate and participate in the ongoing development/establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes. 
• Drive the creation of a collaborative relationship with all supported entities to ensure maximization of working capital, creation of efficiencies, timely and useful reporting and swift problem resolution.  
• Acts as a liaison between the company, government, and CPA auditors in providing the required information and ensuring that proper information is maintained for historical purposes.
• Interacts at all levels and with budget owners or other stakeholders to produce timely, efficient and accurate month-end close and all internal management and financial reporting through annual report.
• Hold meetings to obtain an in-depth understanding of customer needs and requirements regarding financial and management information.  Involve company personnel as appropriate to resolve outstanding vendor issues/concerns
• Directs, motivates and develops staff maximizing their individual contribution, professional growth and their ability to function effectively. Mentor, coach and cross train team members, stretch them beyond their comfort zone, in order to provide advancement and exposure for team members.
