What are the responsibilities and job description for the Barista position at Retro Hospitality?

The Barista will provide service in the Quirk Café located on the property of the hotel. This position will be responsible for greeting guests, taking orders, preparing beverages in accordance to menu standards, serving food and beverages and checking on guest satisfaction.You will be an integral member of the team that creates distinctively different and authentic experiences for our guests. You will be responsible for greeting guests, taking orders, serve food and beverages, and checking on guest satisfaction.


Essential Functions

  • A true desire to satisfy the needs of others in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prepare, set up, stock, take down, clean and provide quality beverages and food products, adhering to all recipe and presentation standards.
  • Responsible for food service set up and break down.
  • Provides excellent service to guests and internal customers in other departments as appropriate.
  • Maintains positive guest and team member interactions with good working relationships.
  • Establishes a rapport with guests maintaining good customer relationships.
  • Works closely with other employees in a supportive and flexible manner, focusing on the overall success of the hotel and the satisfaction of hotel guests.
  • Have a thorough knowledge and understanding of all Food and Beverage items on the menu and the ability to recommend Food and Beverage combinations and up sell alternatives.
  • Works in a supportive and flexible manner with other departments in line with our purpose.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to lift, pull, and push a moderate weight (about 25 pounds).
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays.


Qualifications

  • Previous Barista experience preferred.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, communication and time management skills.
  • Superior customer service skills along with the capability of working both autonomously and as part of a team.
  • The ability to create a positive first impression with an understanding of the importance of grooming standards.
