What You’ll Do
You’re a master of quality techniques and tools and you’re great at inspiring others to join you. You champion understanding changes from the customer perspective and ensure quality is an integral part of the team decision process. You strive to understand complex system interactions that can cause quality issues and ensure engineers account for them in their design and testing. Analyze mistakes and work with others to help ensure they do not recur. Responsible for HR management of a small number of Quality Engineers. Aids in attracting, retaining and growing Quality Engineering staff.
Responsibilities
- Manager for up to 8 Quality Engineers.
- Coach and and mentor team members with ownership and accountability.
- Provide valuable requirements analysis feedback, ensuring they provide effective input into Engineering activities.
- Work with other team members to define and review Acceptance Criteria.
- Support manual testing and troubleshoot new features from many dimensions.
- Perform analysis, research, and troubleshooting of software defects and aid in the documentation of defects and anomalies.
- Build, maintain and improve test artifacts for rapid and efficient reuse by teams.
- Continually assess and improve quality processes.
- Ensure complete and timely reporting of all work products.
- Involved in the QE recruiting process.
Preferred Experience
- 7 years of relevant management/technical experience. Examples include Quality, or Software Engineer).
- Led teams through times of change.
- Define and implement metrics for data-informed decision making.
- Write automated test code using tools like Java and Selenium. Ability to apply test automation design and techniques.
- Experience as a mentor or manager is strongly desired.
