WHY THIS ROLE IS VALUABLE
The Strategic Initiatives team is responsible for facilitating strategic and business planning processes and leading, delivering, and managing a broad portfolio of strategic projects aligned with the effective delivery of the organization’s value proposition and transformation agenda. This role will work broadly across the organization in the service of these goals. The Strategist will conduct research and analysis, develop hypothesis based and data driven recommendations to business challenges, develop socialization materials for executive leaders and manage and deliver projects to support the high-impact strategic priorities for Blackstone portfolio companies and Revantage. This position is based out of Revantage’s headquarters in Chicago, IL or Dallas, TX.
Responsibilities
HOW YOU ADD VALUE
Strategy and Business Planning:
- Lead and drive strategic planning processes while analyzing market trends, customer needs and conducting scenario planning
- Collaborate with functional leaders to develop and optimize business plans and operational strategies that align to company vision, goals and success measures
- Enable the execution of business plans by ensuring communication to departments and establishing appropriate tracking and reporting mechanisms
- Lead assessments of business and departments, gather feedback on Revantage and business partner needs, and refine strategy accordingly
Strategic Advisory and Execution:
- Collaborate with Revantage leadership team and Business Partners to design and execute operating model transformation and enhancement initiatives
- Own responsibility for delivery and quality of multiple strategic projects leading teams of Strategic Initiatives staff to deliver on identified business outcomes
- Translate identified operating model improvements (e.g., process changes, technology changes) into business cases, roadmaps and projects/tasks; work with department resources, technology resources to implement changes
- Demonstrate discretion and professionalism when working on sensitive business and organizational issues, manage ambiguity and propose workable solutions to challenging problems
- Develop storyboards and analytical frameworks, synthesize findings and identify key insights from analysis of data and qualitative insights
- Implement change management processes and tools to help facilitate business transformations and process improvements
- Identify opportunities to create internal and external collaboration and synergies
Portfolio and Project Management:
- Lead broad strategic portfolio management office supporting the life cycle from demand management, prioritization, project execution to results management and reporting
- Establish and maintain project approach, methodology and tools, templates and procedures for portfolio and project management
- Drive effective project management discipline and support strategic project initiatives from ideation and business case development through execution
- Identify trends, risks and opportunities that could hinder or accelerate the impact or execution of initiatives and recommends solutions to improve performance that could benefit the project, program, or our overall strategic portfolio
Operations and Business Support:
- Partner with Revantage leadership team to develop presentation materials for Board, Portfolio Company and Town Hall meetings
- Support scheduled and ad-hoc reporting needs for Revantage and key stakeholders across each department, including metrics to access department functions and performance
- Deliver ad-hoc projects and maximize Revantage leadership team effectiveness by helping balance priorities, communicate effectively, participate in relevant meetings, and connect with business partners and employees
- Collaborate with the People & Culture team on hiring initiatives, employee engagement initiatives, and communication - continue to make Revantage a great place to work
Qualifications
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE
Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in business, engineering, finance, or technology
- Minimum 10 years of relevant work experience
- Demonstrated success and experience in Management/Strategy Consulting, Corporate Strategy or Business Transformation, Corporate Finance or Investment Banking
- Expert level ability to think creatively and outside the box to simplify complex metrics and information into easy-to-understand concepts and senior executive messaging
- Action-oriented, creative, strategic thinking that identifies and connects opportunities, sees gaps, and finds points of connectivity across the enterprise
- Courage in challenging thinking and pushing the collective toward better outcomes to improve the health of the business
- Expert analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
- Expert verbal and written communication skills developing presentations for a wide variety of audiences
- Demonstrated history of collaboration, inter-personal, and influencing skills
- Demonstrated success in working effectively with people at all levels of an organization, including C-suite
- Adept at enhancing team engagement and value proposition and building an inclusive, equitable, collaborative and fun work environment
- Bias for action, ability to deal with ambiguity, and natural perseverance to overcome obstacles and deliver outcomes when leading change
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Strong team player with ability to multi-task and meet deadlines, while thriving in a fast-paced work environment
- Outstanding record of professional and academic achievement
- Expert level proficiency in Microsoft office, and related business intelligence tools
Preferred:
- Experience in Commercial Real Estate
- PMO experience and/or Shared Services Organization Management experience
- Six Sigma Certification
- Experience in business process re-engineering and process improvement techniques
- Proficiency with Collaboration Tools (e.g., SmartSheet, Slack, Teams, etc.)
