What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Mechanic position at Revenue Management Analyst?
The Forklift Mechanic will be responsible for inspecting and testing forklifts as well as completing preventative and routine maintenance servicing. This position will also be responsible for keeping tools and support equipment in safe and operational working condition and keeping work areas clean and free of hazards.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Inspect forklift fleet to ensure trucks are working properly and safely
- Repair and maintain various types of forklifts including electric, gas-powered, and propane-powered
- Perform routine, emergency, and preventative maintenance of forklifts
- Interpret manufacturer’s technical manuals to perform the necessary maintenance and repairs needed
- Troubleshoot forklift problems to include brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems, detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues and/or malfunctions
- Diagnose and repair mast and attachment components
- Demonstrate working knowledge of brake systems and tire/wheel changes
- Replace broken or defective parts from stock parts and/or order replacement parts for major repairs
- Reassemble forklifts and make all necessary adjustments for effective and safe operation
- Perform safety inspection of forklifts prior to being released back to the work floor
- Cleaning of equipment and other areas as required
- Ensure work area and methods used in carrying out job duties meets safety requirements
- Maintain and organized and neat work area
- Complete legible service documents and logs for preventive maintenance tasks
- Learn new technical information and techniques to stay current with changing technology
- Maintain purchase/credit card transactions
- Work with sales vendors to order parts and maintain inventory
- Schedule equipment for service and track data
- Actively exhibit a commitment to support a diverse and inclusive work environment

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Excellent mechanical repair skills
- Ability to use hand and power tools to repair forklift trucks
- Ability to read repair manuals for various types of forklift trucks
- Ability to follow instructions
- Analytical and problem-solving skills
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS
- Must be physically capable of accessing all parts of the forklift truck needing repairs or maintenance, either by kneeling or lying on back
- Must be able to lift 50 lbs. at a time
