Manager, Risk Management
We are looking for a strategic and innovative Manager, Risk Management. This role will work under the Vice President, Risk Management and Legal and will play a crucial role in continually assessing and identifying current and emerging risks. This position involves insurance management and evaluating risks to ensure proper mitigation through the implementation of policies, procedures, training, systems, and controls. The scope includes, compliance/regulatory, strategic/financial, operational risks, and insurance considerations.
Location: #LI-Hybrid / Los Angeles, CA or Costa Mesa, CA.

About The Role
- Risk Mitigation: Collaborate with departments to recommend risk reduction and mitigation activities, addressing gaps in controls and procedures. Monitor the progress against recommended risk reduction activities.
- Insurance Management: Evaluate and manage insurance considerations related to identified risks. Work with internal departments to answer insurance related questions and review exceptions to standard insurance requirements. Work with insurance providers to ensure adequate coverage and assess the alignment of insurance policies with organizational risk mitigation strategies. Assist in the development and maintenance of insurance-related documentation.
- Process Improvement: Maintain and continuously improve existing risk management processes, methodologies, and tools. Implement enhancements to strengthen the overall risk management framework.
- Operational Risk Management: Manage operational risk mitigation and management programs, including Emergency Response and Business Continuity Plans. Ensure the organization is well-prepared to respond to emergencies and maintain business continuity in the face of operational risks.
- Risk Identification: Identify potential enterprise risks, both regulatory and non-regulatory, through ongoing risk assessments with Department Heads or their designees. Integrate identified risks into the annual updates of the Enterprise Risk Management framework.
- Training and Testing: Assist with implementing training and testing programs to enhance operational resilience. Conduct exercises to assess the effectiveness of risk mitigation measures and response plans.
- Compliance Monitoring: Stay abreast of new or amended laws, rules, and regulations affecting the organization. Ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards.
About You
- Bachelor’s degree
- Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience in risk management, compliance, and insurance, preferably in the real estate sector
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements, industry best practices, and insurance policies
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Detail-oriented with a focus on continuous improvement
Compensation
Rexford Industrial's total reward plan includes a premier benefits package, bonus eligibility and long-term stock incentives. The expected annual base salary range for this role is $95,000 - $120,000, with a 20% discretionary annual bonus target and stock grant eligibility.* The actual base salary and total compensation offered depend on a variety of factors, which include, without limitation, the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location where the job will be performed.
